I can't fix you shit dude, or your ISPs shit. maybe look at pysical issues first. Cabling wear and tear, using known good test cat 5 cables. Use surge protectors on your equipment, PS4 and modem. Resat all your cables, make sure there isn;t dust in the ethernet ports, could be that the cable is too near a power source and your getting cross cut interference across your cable. Could be your console ethernet port has craped out, same could be true of your modem port. Maybe your modem has crapped out, or your ISP used the cheapest possible one and is just shit in general? Could be that your ISP is blocking the ports Destiny needs to run on? maybe a cold reboot of the router? or the console ? maybe clear the cache of the console? Point is it could be a lot of things. Troubleshooting is never easy and it will take time to narrow down any issues especially if they are intermittent.

  • No the point is that the issue is bungie. People like you are the reason they can never fix crap because you come in here and talk about this nonsense. Everything you've said in your original post is bullshit. One of the main things is you saying if you follow these steps it will seriously reduce lag. First off that shit doesn't apply to everyone. If person has satellite internet then they are just SOL. So you saying that if these steps are followed it will reduce a lot of the lag is a bunch of bullshit.

  • OK, whatever. I get that your just angry, cause it the internet. Good for you. I have made the same assumptions made by Bungie in my write up. Your internet media will be either DSL or fibre. You have a modem. You actually want to improve your experience. If the very microscopic portion of the players are on 56k dialup or mobile hotspots, maybe they should think about playing offline only games.
Maybe the 13 year olds should just stick to watching porn online

Thank you for improving my forum experience by allowing me to mute you. Have a great day :)
• So thats the problem. You are basing everything you are saying off of what bungie said just like you said above. Also I don't have modem which means you haven't been reading what i've said.

  • No, honestly you are just litel pit ignorant. He actually tried to help you, if you don't take the help, thats fine. But just don't be a -blam- about it, and maybe people will try their best to help you with your problems. And yes I was in a similar situation to you where I had a terrible connection. Then I just looked into it and found out that my old modem just couldn't handel destiny. But all in all, I hope you have a good day.

  • Clearly people only read what they want to. Clearly my connection/setup is not the problem as I play every other game with no problem at all.

  • Also, go to pingtest.net / speedtest.net to test your connection to see what you are actually getting. Ping test will allso give you a estimate of how good you connection is. You might not be getting what you paid for.

Ok I did what you suggested. Speedtest results: Download - 45.22 Upload - 43.84 Ping - 18ms Pingtest results: Packet Loss - 0% Ping - 17ms Jitter - 0ms I'm signed up for a 50/50 service but was currently uploading something so numbers were a little off. When connection is idle ping stays between 5 and 10 ms. Edit: Finally got speedtest to let me post a link. Ping is at 24 but thats still really good while i'm uploading.

  • I hope that you are running the same set up for your consol, because that would make it really interesting. ( you probably tested on your pc, so was it on a enthernet cable or over wifi? And are you using wired or wireless for your consol?)

That test is over a wired connection on my computer. Xbox is hardwired using a separate real ip. When I run the network test on my xbox download is 47.53, upload is 48.25 and ping is 19ms with 0% packet loss. Just for the heck of it I tried switching the ethernet cable from cat 6 to cat 7 with no change. Even tried wifi just to see and still no difference. Even tried using IPv6 with the same results. Nat is always open and when I run port test using destiny ports it always says they are open.

Clearly you don’t read anything. Why do you comper P2P game to one run on dedicated servers? So that you can play other games like Black ops 3 Bf4 with out problems, doesn't mean that the fault for lagging in destiny is not on your end. Destiny is p2p so when a game start it all relies on players connection and is really sensitive to things like package loss. And don't say it's Bungies fault. Would you want them to stop development on the next game to try and make destiny to run on dedicated servers and possibly break the entire game while doing it? You can just simply do your best to optimize your connection and most of your connection problems will go away once you get it right. ( there will always be some problems that you can't influence like isp proplems) Edit: also I don't want to say that I agree with their chosen paht, but we will just have to live with it
