The thing is that we are also fighting gods and immensely powerful creatures

So give us stronger weapons and abilities to match their stronger weapons and abilities, don't nerf things because it feels "too easy." It's supposed to be a natural progression of bad assery not regression to mediocrity.

  • If primaries are buffed, people won't complain. I'm fine with the way the game is right now, but everyone complains so damn much and I hate it.

  • There shouldn't be a need for buffs or nerfs in PVE though. Too much micromanaging sucks the fun out of everything. Just leave it be and let us actually enjoy the game as advertised; a space odyssey of Demi gods that are trying to take back their solar system from enemies that provide a challenge but not one that is insurmountable and therefore fun. Everything else can be released at the pace they choose.

  • Yes, but you need to keep it balanced. Back in Y1, I was bored of using Gjallarhorn and raid weapons all the time

  • Here's the thing though, all bosses were copy/paste get too close and get OHK meleed bullet sponges, Gjallarhorn did it's job fine, the problem was poor boss design. Also with the raid weapons, I'm willing to bet that's because they were elemental, no? So easy fix, break down an elemental raid primary = elemental core, can be attached to any primary weapon of your choosing and permanently makes it that element. Can be taken from the weapon for [x] cost, but the core is destroyed upon removal and cannot be reapplied, you have to go out and get another one.

  • I'm saying raid weapons because every single one of them was the best possible option for any PvE gun. He elemntal roll helped, and I have suggested the elemental core idea many times, but the fact still stands. There were clear victors in PvE and PvP. It is better now, where everything is viable more or less. There are no overpowered weapons per say anymore, and that's a good thing

Well yeah Fatebringer was obviously the best HC in the game, but if you got say... A Lord High Fixer with a close enough roll, you wouldn't break down the Fatebringer so you could make the LHF into an elemental? Or you could have a Void/Solar LHF and an Arc Fatebringer
There are no overpowered weapons per say anymore, and that's a good thing
There's also no truely powerful weapon though, we've killed gods and the best weapon we can get from him is a mediocre pulse rifle with Firefly, an abysmal reload time and other terrible perks, PvE isn't rewarding

  • I'm not disagreeing with you, but let's be honest, it's poor weapon design to have one weapon that is that dominant. There should have been other weapons that were made that were every bit as viable as the Gjallahorn, they just performed a different function. Look at the action based games made by Platinum Games and Capcom, such as Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Yes the those games and this game are as different as night and day but when you consider the weapon design in those games it was perfect. While you may hover towards a certain weapon based on your particular preferences every weapon was viable in a given situation based on individual strengths. Player skill could more than make up for when the weapons weren't exactly ideal so that you were never forced to use one weapon over another. If I wanted to experiment and master another weapon then I was more than able to because the weapon system actually worked. That's what this game is lacking, instead of nerfing and buffing weapons based on what's popular and what isn't make a system in which every weapon is viable and considered fun and let the players choose the weapons based upon personal preference. This current system and the use of a weapon meta is so ass-backwards that it's mind-boggling to me. Where is the fun in it?

  • That is the system that I hope gets implemented. Currently in OvE, everything is viable but nothing is stand out and it is fairly bland. This obviously does not translate to PvP, but in PvP this system is already at use. Every gun type is viable, and it is down to personal preference as to what can be used.

  • I've made a post about creating a new Engram called "Custom Engrams". A basic weapon that starts as a white weapon and can be upgraded by finding weapon perks out in the patrols. You can also buy common style perks that aren't super good from banshee but they'll help your weapons grow. lets look at it like a list: White= Starting base: one perk slot- Take to banshee to purchase a perk or find one in patrol, upgrade that perk, a new slot appears based on the perk you put on it such as a sight the weapon creates a new perk on it that follows that type. Bring it to banshee after you have completed your first set of weapons perks. Green= Second row perk base: Now there are to rows of perk sets now your choice add fire fly early or rodeo or Etc. the perks follow a set as before to self balance and to become a new weapon. Bring to banshee as before to upgrade. Blue= Third row of perks base: Three rows now comes the part on adjusting the way the gun is handled as before whatever perk you choose will decide its perk evolution. And bringing it to Banshee to upgrade afterwards. Purple= Fourth row of perks base: This is the guns abilities perk section that allows abilities such as Volitie rounds,Final round or Etc. the choice of this perk will also follow a balance perk tree to make this weapon effective to your decisions. as before take to Banshee to upgrade. Red= Fifth row of perk base: This is what makes this gun your gun. One last perk. Only one perk at the end. This makes the weapon distinguishable to who you are. This gun is your gun. A perk of your choice to make it unique. This is where your gun can be a completely balanced out PVP weapon or a ADD destroyer in PVE. There will be an option to name the weapon in the end after fully upgraded. Bring to banshee to open this option. Now weapon perks can be removed but not kept. So finding them creates a new perspective on how things are in destiny. so starting the weapon over makes it fun or keep it the same and make a new one. Custom engrams musty be found a certain way though. It would be to easy to just buy them. My other idea is that their should be a Ghost app where a friend is flying your ghost and scans a near by object that was just a plain old object that was overlooked over the years since destiny has been out. A new mission appears in patrol that makes you under go a story line type mission thats difficult as to say like a strike just under a night fall status. Thus giving you the reward but these missions must only be found as a traveling ghost. Makes the game far bigger than before and creates new ways to bring people into the destiny world. Plus Custom Engrams Won't just be limited to weapons but also Armor. Weapons Designs change with the perks that are added to make them look like they are weapon attachments. Just saying.
