We're walking a fine line between reliable weapons vs point to kill weapons. Yes all shots from a hand cannon should register(speaking on the accuracy) but I would rather have every weapon collectively be weaker than to buff everything to the point that TTK is at yr 1 TLW tier. As for primaries vs specials you just have to be smart and aware. Obviously you're not going to win a hand cannon vs shotgun battle if you're charging at your opponent. Ultimately yes some buffs are needed but imo buffs/nerfs just produce problems with other weapons.

But I'm not asking for year one last word ttk, I would never want to have that.

Ik I was just using it as an example of how TTK could potentially dramatically increase with damage buffs. Because things are never, ever balanced, and buffing one thing makes another inferior, begins a buffing/nerfing war. I mean maybe Bungie could get it right and find a nice middle ground but I'm skeptical

See the problem now is that we're in a nerfing war, it's a continuous cycle of nerfing things that are superior, when in fact sometimes things need to be brought up to par. People always say just because we start buffing things that means we'll turn into cod, it's a completely false assumption. It's a delicate balance between buff and nerf, Bungie just goes nerf.
