i had this same thought last night. You cannot kill a good player with a primary because they will always hide if you have the advantage. That is why universal remote is everywhere. It takes a great play for a sniper to stop a titan running at them... even if they are not using jug shield.
This is the camp in spawn meta because ttk calls for it. Shotgunners need to push hard so snipers cant get lanes... then snipers sit back in spawn because they cant push at shotgunners.... then everyone pulls out universal....
This would change if pulse rifles 2-3 pulsed and all other ttk was higher. People would have to disengage faster when their sniper is challenged and people wouldnt be able to run across the map with a jug shield.
It would force people to win using positioning.

According to stats both Mida and The Last Word are in the top 5 used primaries and have been there since December. Uni finally reached number #3, it's been stuck at 6 for awhile(behind both GoM and Hawksaw). Hopefully for RoI we have more consistient primary weapons available from the vendors. Anything that requires crazy rng will most likely never see any usage in PvP.

It should be a bad shotgun... not one of the best[/quote] The thing is it was never a bad shotgun, it was just outclassed by other shotguns(kinda like Mida was outclassed by other primaries during Y1). Imo Universal should have been like the Chaperone, a shotgun that has alot of range but can only benefit from it by landing headshots.

Maybe.... But i do not think it should compete at all with someone using a shotgun as their secondary. No land is not as good as other snipers... it is good... but not as good. Universal is arguably the best shotgun in the game. It has crazy range when a headshot is hit and shoots faster then most of the shotguns used.
