Dead on. A game that says you MUST team up if you want to experience it fully and clearly it causes players to get drug in way over their head in many cases. It is a stupid system.

I talked about this long back. I noticed as soon as I paired up with a buddy who was of twice the KD I was drug into matches just as described. These things are being totally ignored which is exactly what Bungie always does when they have totally screwed up. So now you don't just need friends in the game you have to have friends of exactly the same skill or someone will have an awful experience all the time. This damn participation trophy society we are building is dumb as it gets.
