We are actively investigating player reports regarding recent TAPIR Errors received by players on all platforms. We have identified the cause of this issue and are working diligently to reach a resolution.
This thread will be updated with new information as it becomes available. If you have encountered this issue, please Comment in this thread with your PSN ID/ Xbox Gamertag, as well as exactly which console you have received this error on.
Thank you for your patience as we pursue a resolution to this issue.

Swissmissusa, ps4, I have had this issue all morning after I set up my new ps4. Getting the TAPIR code. My husbands ps4 is in the other room and its signing into destiny and he can play just fine. Please let us know when it is fixed.

2 RepliesI recently just purchased brand new XboxOne console. Just purchased the 59.99 bundle that include all the dlcs online (digital version). My gamertag is RoyalxGoddess. I can't port my legacy characters over receiving TAPIR error code. PLEASE HELP, i spent good money because I love this game and want to play.

Just bought xbox one today because I want to play rise of iron when it comes out. Then spent $60 on the "collection" package.... I get the message about the legacy console, accept it, then "tapir". Now I learn this has been going on for 3 days? I just want to play. I spent a small fortune this weekend. Please fix. BDT2000

Bungie, This has gone on for three days by your own count. Longer by double, triple even according to other customers who are affected. You stated that you would update this thread as information is available. But in 72 hours you've said nothing. I'm seriously disappointed. As a kid I remember playing Halo for the first time on Xbox. I loved it. And it made me want to be a part of bungie. But eventually Microsoft took over. I always kinda attributed all the bad that happened to halo to this. Then , years later, destiny came out. And again I was enchanted by it. And then I heard tell of a weapon, we wont say any more than I believe jade is in the name. Playstation exclusive. I attributed this to well Microsoft took halo so whatever a little bit of spite towards Microsoft was okay and kinda justified. Year one had its bumps, but it was expected in the way you expect mammoths to fall from the sky in Skyrim. Enter year two, crimson doubles. My girlfriend at the Time and I competed, literally the entire time but the shells just never dropped. But you heard us, your players, your fans, your customers, accepted that there was a problem and fixed it by sending any who competed a shell. My girlfriend got her crimson shell and literally she showed it off too her mother who can barely grasp the concept of a remote let alone a ghost. My point is that what we want is to just not be left in the dark. My best friend is still waiting on just anything to reassure him something is really being done. So please I think I can safely say a little communication would put all of minds at ease.

Bought my Xbox One S yesterday in the hope of playing with my friends that already switched over some time ago. I anticipated seeing the better graphics I heard so much about. Instead we are all getting this tapir error. First you cut off the app so we legacy players can't see stats. How basic is that. .stats man cmon.. OK so I figured i would download the destiny the collection version and also get my app back so I could see my stats. Instead I get nothing but error codes. Today I went to game stop and bought COD advanced warfare for 10 bucks just so I had something to play on my new box. I hated the advanced movement so that's why I never bought it before. But you forced my hand. That game download was 53gb. Lol and behold NO TAPIR ERROR. What a mess the COD upload was far smoother than this mess you have going on. We all understand errors and issues. What pisses people off more than those items is generic responses and continued avoidance of real actual and factual responses to the community. You love how involved the community is as you say it in all of your videos. What comes with a great community is a higher sense of responsibility and reciprocity. You want money for dlc. We want dlc that works. Communicate with your community and stop hiding. You would get far less salt tossed your way. Thank you and have a good day.

Well how about a nice little pre order of rise of Iron for a loyal Destiny player to offset my inconvenience since you say you appreciate my patience, is it worth a few pixels to you? Since the pixels didn't cost you anything in the first place I mean, since I was going to go ahead and do my pre order until I realized I couldn't log in, even though I had previously logged in and even raided on my xbox one now I can't even log in at all. Wow.

Hey guys doing as you asked and commenting... . Bought a new console so I could keep playing your game ( the only game I play ) and now after hours of downloading new games (which I already paid for on the 360) and paying basically 300 bucks for the price of being a member of the seventh column I am getting the "Tapir" code ... I am trying to play destiny on the Xbox one for the first time ... I played yesterday or the day before on my old Xbox 360 ... Which no longer exists.... I'd appreciate any kinda love you wanna throw my way for all the bull$h!+ I'm going through. A loyal BUNGIE playing fool.... But a really pissed off one right now -J
