In The Ruling House mission, Variks says the phrase "Reef War Tactics: Advanced Warfare" when talking about high servitors jamming signals. That got me thinking... that sounds a lot like a game title.
It would be cool to see an space combat strategy game where you're a member of house Wolves or the Reef to experience the Reef wars. You could play as a Reef paladin commanding divisions of the Royal Armada (including the Corsairs and Vestian Guard) or you could be a Wolf Baron(ess) with a ketch and a significant portion of the Wolf fleet. I imagine gameplay would be 3rd person ship combat with a button to enter "tactical mode" which pauses the action in an aerial overview to let you manage and command troops. There could be all sorts of cool stuff to use and explore:
-Ships like skiffs, ketches, Awoken ships
-Interesting unit types like techeuns, crows, servitors, and Silent Fang
-Fallen missions to gather resources from asteroids to make ether while risking detecting from Awoken
-Superweapons like the harbingers and the Carybdis gravity weapon
Alternatively, it could also be a "regular" military shooter where you just play as a foot soldier (from either side) deployed to fight inside space stations and board enemy ships to take them over. Would be a good opportunity to play as Fallen, and the experience of a non-guardian soldier could be interesting.
I'm not actually saying Bungie should devote the time and resources to actually make this happen (though could be outsourced to another studio), but it's just a thought I felt like sharing.

Bungie fails at military strategy. How is jamming communications "advanced warfare"? Armies have been killing each others spies/scouts/messengers since the very first wars. But your idea sounds cool. Ships need a bigger role than just cosmetic loading screens.
and the same -blam!-in gun over and over again, and it will be spare change .25
BA DA, DA DA DA DUM! (Advanced warfare intro)

I quite like tactical games so I think that's a brilliant idea

Empire At War style space fights. I'd buy it.

Actually, it ends up just being Variks messing with radio stations... Lol

Space invader a la destiny?

Sooooooo, Halo Wars for Destiny?

What about a mini game accessible only from the Vestian Outpost. Sounds like a take on the classic game Risk. Would be cool to see old maps of Earth, Venus, Mars, and the Moon that were separated into areas from Destiny's lore. Then we could pick our races and play risk against AI opponents or against online players. I think it could be cool. Have some of the vendors or NPCs do voice over work for it. It could be a blast. Seriously though, most RPGs have mini games. Why not this MMORPGFPS? lol (honest trailers reference right there)

Or maybe instead of a separate space fighting game, let us space fight in destiny already
-
Would work great on PC... Any kinda loosely based RTS console game sucks golf balls through a garden hose.
-
That doesn't sound like my kind of game

Or. Memory missions in general
