I have now been waiting 7 days to play. I have a tapir error on the xbox one, and a chicken error on the 360. I have been playing for the past 2 years and have thousands of hours invested in the game.Besides that I cannot use bungie.net for much since I am tied to a legacy console. I have posted a number of times about this issue.
Here is the bottom line, as of May 2016, Destiny had about 30 million registered users. A few thousand of us who can't play is no big deal. We have already invested in an xbox one, probably 2 copies of Destiny through the taken king, and will soon plunk down another $30.00 U.S. to play the next dlc.
This is not going to be fixed until the maintenance window on Thursday. There is no reason for Bungie to make any effort to fix it before then. Nor will there be any announcement about what the problem was or even that it wont be fixed until tomorrow's maintenance. There will be something like, "Issues keeping some players from logging on to Destiny are subsiding, thanks for your patience." Maybe.
If they tell you it won't be until tomorrow, maybe you will play something else instead of checking every hour if the game has been fixed. You might play the beta of Battlefield 1, which works really well and is a lot of fun. Or the free Forza Horizon game, that works really well and is a lot of fun.
Bungie has demonstrated that they have no respect for its players, so get over it. Go do something else, come back Thursday evening after the maintenance and hope your game works.
As for me, I will probably still play Destiny. But I must say the the enjoyment of the game will never be the same. I also will not spend an additional dollar on anything Bungie has to sell. That's all I can do is not financially support Bungie any more than is necessary to play the game. Not a penny more. I won't be watching twitch streams, or anything else Destiny might publish or put on the net. Micro transactions, not a chance. Destiny store, nope.
And as for Destiny 2. Not excited at all. I really don't like the way I and the rest of the Destiny community have been treated.
So, if you are unhappy as a Destiny player, the only avenue you have to display your disappointment is with your wallet. Think about it.
