Definitely a possibility that it will affect us negatively on day 1. Like being quarantined from the tower and reef so we can't do mass faction and engram turn ins.
But in all reality I suspect it won't be that huge of a bad thing if that's how it shakes out. Would be a bad move on bungies part to handicap a majority of their player base as a prank.
And then again, the owl website warns us...

I have to disagree, there are people who don't get on these forums or Reddit and just play. They will be infected without a thought as to why or what it's about. To negatively effect someone's account would be ridiculous and possibly irresponsible on bungies part. This is probably nothing more than a side game. Kinda like 6 degrees to Kevin bacon. This guy infected that guy who infected that guy...
