Long Time, No See
I walk the streets of the mountain town. My brown cloak fluttering slightly in the winds. I look up near the top of the mountain, the actual dojo sitting perched up there. I remember when we colonized this planet. It was beautiful. Ships leaving for this new haven. One that could accommodate the large influx of warriors we were taking in.
New Warriors.
I look around me, seeing the people walk around. I didn't recognize anyone. Word was that Pants had taken over, and there was a new set of Veterans. Strange, to think that things change. But maybe it was for the better. I looked around for a place to stop by and get a drink. I find a nice little tavern and enter, setting my clock at the coat hanger by the door. The footsteps are unheard as I walk up to the counter, my bag carrying all my weapons and other gear. The bartender was a middle-aged man, with a 5 o'clock shadow and a hairline that was starting to recede. When he spoke, His voice was gruff.
"What'll it be?"
A Brandy, please.
"Coming right up."
He delivers my drink, I talk a small sip and observe the bar. There was the usual din that accompanied them. It reminded me of the Floodzone.
Regardless of memories, I returned my attention to my drink. Slowly sipping away at it.
