I know what I am about to say is going to anger a lot of people, yet this is something that needs to be said.
Allow me to start off with a quick story:
Last friday, I was grinding strikes like many other people in order to get that elusive 365 light and do the raid. I happened to spawn in to the Omnigul strike, and was quickly the only person doing it as other members left for no apparent reason. Not long after, a fire team of two spawned in and things started going down hill:
At first, they would stand in front of me when I was trying to shoot, then they intentionally kept suiciding to the enemies for no apparent reason. It was irritating, yet we somehow progressed to the next stage. Right when I loaded my ghost to open the door, they started running me over with their sparrows for no apparent reason. I called them out on it, and one of them sent me an invite to join their team for the upcoming raid. I was naive and joined their fire team. They immediately kicked me.
When I called them out on it, the said they wanted to farm to get their light levels up and got rid of me to get their fired in.
I consider myself a fair person. If they had simply messaged me and talked to me about it, I would have understood. This, however, didn't happen. Instead, I was harassed, degraded, and lied to.
I write this now because this instance isn't just me telling some sob story. I want people to look at it for what it is: Bullying.
This is a clear case of a guardian being bullied out of his enjoyment. I take bullying very seriously, and hopefully others do to. I don't know how rare this type of behavior is (and I am praying that my case is one of a few isolated incidents), yet it should never be acceptable to harass others just to get to a higher level faster.
As much as it pains me to ask this, Bungie, please remove the ability to farm Omnigul.
I say this because this method of farming is by far the most widely used way to quickly reach 365. Unfortunately, it has become clear what lengths people will go to in order to use it. This cannot stand. I love this game, form the bottom of my heart, and I don't want it to become a place where bully behavior is accepted and encouraged. I know I can't change the players, so I'm asking the makers to patch the game.
I'm sorry everyone, but I can't let one exploit or farming method ruin the game.

It seems they did fix the 320 to satiate crying babies, 320 strike remember a 320 strike deopping lv 39 lighr 279 gear. All because snowflakes.
-
And and and and and some one stuck his willy in a meat grinder with a post this long just to snowflake himself.
-
I've said this before it's a cheese which needs to be fixed and people like these banned

Your rant is a rough story, but being honest, is one I could throw away and still stand by your final point. If Bungie is going to stand by the precedent of their behavior to date, they need to halt the Omnigul farm. Halt the ability to get rewards from her until she is up the hill. Hell, you just made an ogre invulnerable, do it here for ten seconds. In VoG, The Templar pillar where you are all out of range of oracles and can just snipe him. Fixed in like a week, now hobgoblins spawn there and it makes you "return to area." Push Atheon of the ledge? Fixed. Solo running Crota? The shortcut blow up 2nd pillar, Fixed. Still doing it? The bridge cheese with climbing the tower and waiting for the baddies on opposite side to appear? Fixed. Now when you kill even all those, the totems go red and you die. Loot cave? Fixed. Three of coins rewarding too much when farming bosses too quickly? Fixed. Valid T'aruc only using the hidey hole? Fixed, the made him easier, no need to hide. Bungie fixes cheeses. That, and combined with the idea that everything else they do is designed to generate more playtime through a longer grind means that Bungie, in order to be consistent, needs to remove this farm.

People are jerks I've seen plenty of people troll others on various quests... not just Omni. The only thing Omni has going for it is a nice tight area to easily kill with sparrows. Every other strike can be troll'ed in the ways you suggest. Ranting is fine. Trying to get something removed or stopped because you're "upset" about something... yeh. No thanks.
-
Character issue, not a game issue here.
-
Just report them dude. This rant is unnecessary.
-
I've been running Will of Crota for the last two days. Start to finish runs. I've not had a single person troll or bully me. The most inconvenient thing that has happened is the occasional fireteam asking me to leave because their buddy DC'd. Is it annoying that there's only one good source to get to 365? Absolutely and that should be the complaint focus. Not asking to remove the only reliable avenue we have.
-
Farming omnigul is not the reason you were bullied. You were just unlucky enough to get matched with a couple of douches.
-
Something similar happened to me at the Court of Oryx. It's ridiculous what gamers do.
-
Bullying? Please... Just drop out of the strike and start over... or get in a Fireteam. Solved your problem.
-
The behavior sucks but maybe bungie shouldn't have removed the other ways to get max light and this wouldn't be a problem. But no they had to negate all progress the April update made
-
From what you described, this has nothing to do with the fact that they were farming the strike, they were just being jerks to try to get you to leave instead of just asking you politely to leave so their friend could join. This could have happened on any of the strikes.
-
It's annoying sure, but you need a thicker skin. Anytime a virtual gamer is a turd, hit the ps4 button and exit. Block them. Bullying is crappy for sure. But in a game environment you have power to fix it yourself instead of having the developers nerf farming. They created the whole game as a farming engine of boredom.
-
The lengths people will go to post bait. It amazes me. I don't think the "I was bullied so stop the omnigul grind" was a very good angle, imo. Like, at least try to make your points actually relate to each other next time.

Welcome to the internet

They will eventually patch it. Just a lil heads up, prepare for the hate comments. They're gonna come in quickly and laugh at you.
