John ran at Sketch and then purposely slid past him right before he got hit. John then used his arm length to keep Sketch at a distance while attacking with his long knife. His strikes were precise and quick, but his attempts at keeping a distance and dodging made his strikes infrequent.
-
*Sketch lets him slide past but whirls around kicking him in the back of the head before the can stand up and then jumping back, still in his guard.* "Come on, the only person I know who is faster than me also happens to be my wife! She's very talented!"
-
John got back into a stance. "I'm just testing your speed. I need to get the blood flowing is all." John shakes his left hand to the point of it becoming impossible to see and then stops it suddenly. "I think I'm good now."
-
"Hmm, you are really fast. But she was able to take me down before I could land a single hit!" *He suddenly pulls out a smoke grenade and throws it down. The whole area fills with smoke as he seemingly disappears into it.*
-
"I'm still young, I have time to improve." John closed his eyes again and focused his senses. He could hear Sketch as well as feel him displace the smoke if he moved.
-
Edited by Skatch142: 10/2/2016 1:43:21 AM*He hears a voice next to his right ear.* "She's eighteen thousand years old so you may need some extra time to become as fast as she is." *Before he can react, he already hears Sketch run away. It's near silent but if he strains his ears he can tell Sketch is quietly walking over to his left, somewhere between ten and fifteen feet away now.*
-
I have to ask, just how experienced is your character?
"Why are you running?! You scared of me or something or did you hear a vacuum cleaner, scaredy cat?!" John continues to just stand there with his eyes closed, prepared for anything. He might be putting a little too much faith in his reaction time.
-
"What?! Where!? Hey, f#%& you! It's a legitimate fear! What if my tail gets caught?!" *He's now in front of him but moving back towards his left.*
He's very experienced. I only use him to test because I'm best with him.
-
I was hoping to have my character lose by inexperience when testing, that's why I asked.
"Here kitty kitty! I got some tuna for you and a dish of milk!" John started to tease Sketch to see if he could get him to mess up.
-
*He a walkie talkie hits him in the right side of the head and a message comes through.* "F#%& off you racist a$$hole." *He doesn't seem to be nearby now.*
-
Edited by Cthulhu Agent: 10/2/2016 3:13:14 AMJohn caught it before it hit him. He used the device to talk to Sketch. "Aw, you're such an adorable little thing. Wanna play with some yarn I have?"
-
"Have you stopped to wonder if it's a good idea to piss off the one who decides if you can fight others or not? Because you're going to have to stop being racist if you even want a chance... I've dealt with enough people like you and for a second I actually enjoyed having to tell someone what I was again..."
-
"Yeah, I just realized this is a test fight and not a fight for my life. I didn't mean anything I said, I'm sorry. No hard feelings? I'd hate to lose a possible friend."
-
"Fine... I just don't take that stuff lightly... Anyways let's keep going. You're going to have to find me though."
-
"What? Why? Ugh...fine." John runs around looking for Sketch.
-
*The second he leaves the smoke cloud, a second walkie talkie hits him in the right side of his head.*
-
"Where the hell are you even getting these?! You aren't wearing any clothes!"
-
"That was just the other one!" *Says Sketch who is now sitting in a tree and eating a Twinkie.* "Although I did get them from my backpack... But I don't use the pockets on my duster for nothing!" *He unbuttons his duster, showing the inside lined with pockets. Each pocket has a Twinkie in it. Underneath his duster he is wearing a black t-shirt with the number 142 on it and tan cargo shorts.* "Also, how could you think I'm not wearing clothes?"
-
"The way your author betrayed you made it seem like you were naked. Now, can we stop 4th wall breaking and fight?" John picks up his rifle and shoots the twinkie out of Sketch's hand.
-
Edited by Skatch142: 10/2/2016 4:30:00 AM
How? I only described what was visible. I even said he had a duster on!
*His eyes turn red when he shoots the twinky.* "You just ruined any chance of us being friends!!!" *He summons the Katana he summoned before and swings it like a baseball bat. The most powerful blast of air you've ever felt hits you, sending you flying into the Dojo wall.* "Slam dunk!!!"
-
John easily ducks under the force because air does not compare to his speed. "I'll give you a box afterwards. It's no big deal. What, are you the guy from Zombieland or something?"
-
"Excuse me?!" *He says, swinging upward, this time. Air coming up from underneath him and sending him flying into the air.*
I'm not trying to be rude but how did he know the sword can control air? That's the first time Sketch used it and air is invisible too. Also, it's traveling about two hundred miles per hour and Sketch is only about fifty feet away from him... It's just a one time thing considering once you know how his sword works you can't be surprised, but that couldn't have realistically dodged though... It's fine though, sorry if it sounds like I'm criticizing you.
-
That's the thing, two hundred miles per hour is incredibly slow compared to what John is capable of and he was predicting retaliation from his actions. This character is based off his reaction time and speed, so is his rival. I usually don't go for this type of combat so I wanted to try it out.
John flies backwards and lands on his feet. "To be honest I wasn't expecting that one and yes I'll even make it five boxes if it makes you feel better."
-
"Why would I want more boxes?! I live in a box!!!"
Yes, but it's air. Reaction time doesn't matter when you're dealing with something that is both invisible and that you wouldn't expect to be controlled by a sword... From the same distance, Sketch wouldn't be able to dodge because two hundred miles per hour is far faster than someone is capable of running, and it's not a focused blast of air. Also, again, not trying to argue.
-
If we're doing it for scientific reasons and not arguing than I'd like to bring up that he was sensing the displacement of the smoke from the smoke bomb and reaction/combat speed is always faster than running speed. Most people can move their hand faster than two hundred miles per hour. The more you know.
"I meant boxes of twinkies!"
