I say no because the point of skeleton keys was to replace strike specific loot so that we could choose what loot we wanted. As such, I'm pretty sure it has the same drop rate as strike specific loot, which makes sense to me. Skeleton keys weren't made to increase strike specific loot drops, just to allow you to choose what loot you wanted.

In all of ttk, I only got one strike specific item, I played a LOT of strikes

I agree with this statement. I have been trying to get a good imago loop and desperately need an artifact, but the drop rate should be rare. If not it defeats the whole purpose.
-
I agree with you. Keep them the same as strike specific drops pre RoI. It's fun to keep the drops rare. Something else to play for. The keys allow more choice which is good, but I defo agree with keeping them rare.

I wrote the same thing earlier today....it drops at the same rate strike specific loot drops...before rise of iron you would run omnigul 10-12 times (for me at least..sometimes more)to get the grasp or the warlock bond...with the rise of iron its the same thing run strikes and get a key every 10-12 strikes
-
This is my exact stand on it. I like it like this because we have somewhat of a choice on when to use it instead of always getting the tread upon stars as opposed to the elusive imaga loop I've been chasing. Now I have a better chance at the imaga loop.
-
Well I keep choosing to get the loot from sepiks perfected and the wretched eye to get that sniper rifle but all I've gotten are the stupid warlock bonds and titan marks and I'm a hunter. I've used 5 keys already on those 2 strikes
-
I feel your pain man. I haven't managed to get that to drop either, but it hasn't even been 2 weeks yet. "Eyes up guardian"
-
I got the sniper from upgrading the summing pits strike to the abomination heist. Maybe it has a better chance to drop in there.
-
The opposite for me. I've used 10 damn skeleton keys on the abomination heist for the ogre grasps, and I've gotten 10 goddamn Devils dawn snipers (all in -blam!-ING ARC). It's pissing me off that I can't get what I'm after(anything but the -blam!-ing sniper) while everyone else seems to be after what I continue to get! Absolutely infuriating
-
Me too man. I wasted all 3 of the keys I've ever gotten trying for the sniper and I got bonds every single time.

Skeleton keys weren't made to increase strike specific loot drops, just to allow you to choose what loot you wanted.
"CHOOSE what loot we wanted" is imprecise word choice like the RNG of skeleton key use in strikes. Out of eight keys on wretched eye and Phogoth I've gotten the sniper rifle EVERYTIME. So the choice isn't helping me so much. Sure I can CHOOSE which strike I can get a drop but the drops have been evidence of bad weighting of a loot table. Better to say you can "choose what specific strike loot table RNG will screw you." Oh and how come the Imago loop, treads upon stars and other weapon strike loot has random rolls but this damm sniper rifle has the same perks? THAT makes it worse to get EIGHT of them (6 solar and two arc). Ugh.

I think the keys were put in place so that we couldn't over farm specific bosses when they were the knight fall , just my op
-
Not for me. I would get get strike loot far more frequently before. I've gotten 2 keys in about 45 strikes. That's about 15 hrs of strikes for 2 keys.
-
See I understand this but the drop rate doesn't match. I was forever getting imago loop, treads upon stars, darkblade fusion and the helmet. I've had one skeleton key from strikes since RoI. Drop rate does not match the drop rate of the specific loot from before RoI
-
It might not match for you but it's been about the same or better for me with skeleton keys. The only time I really ever got drops was the nightfall before.

Edited by Brick: 10/2/2016 3:29:47 PMFar too small a sample size to definitively say something like that. Personally, I find the drop rate around the same, if not higher.

It was to stop us from getting grasps and imagos. That simple. Bungie screwed their player base again
-
I hate when bungie riders try to defend heavy grinding for an already repetitive game. "Choose what you want"? How about do 6 hours worth of strikes and get 2 keys only to get a worthless ass bond. No ghost or artifacts. Besides it's been proven key drops are higher in non-heroic playlists proving the artificial grind.
