The Water Rose Dojoville The sodden feet lay barefoot against the hard tile of the stone road, the rain soaking the skin thoroughly. She walked with no real goal, headed in no particular direction, exhaustion burdening her like her hunger... But that was no concern now. Her large umbrella covered her from the torrent's onslaught, and the long black veil that hung from the sides hid her from view. And just as it seemed that she would fall from exhaustion, she found slight relief in a bench. It had no cover, but she didn't mind. It was minor solace in a maelstrom. Her chest heaved slightly, her long breaths accompanied by the distant crack of thunder, and a spiderweb of lightning... So far from home. She wasn't sure where she was... All she knew is that she needed to keep going. A refugee... // Time seemed to pass, as she had seemingly drifted off into sleep, and as she awoke she realized that the storm had given way to a clear sky. Stars sparkled above and she let out a sigh of relief. With a click, she twisted her umbrella handle the veil around her raising up and vanishing inside the contraption, the umbrella folding away a moment later. And there sat the newest member of the dojo... A strikingly beautiful woman, of strange origin. She had light blue, almost pale skin like a ghost, dotted with black. And along her legs and arms were glowing lines, turquoise in hue. Then there was her hair... Oh her hair... Sunset red, like the falling leaves in autumn. The hair perfectly accompanied her eyes that shimmered like powerful fires, warm and kind. Her face was delicate and gentle, radiating life and joy. She wore a long black dress with a hood, which her hair was neatly folded into, as was a custom of her exotic species. Lastly, there was her crest, hung right above her forehead... Held in place by a metal rod, which also held her hair in place. Signaling her status in her society... Royalty... The rarest blossom of her kind.
https://i.imgur.com/A099tv7.jpg
But such radiance was diminished by her tired eyes and aching feet. She never wore shoes... So the hard trail had hurt them severely... But the rain had eased away the trial of blood. It was clear she was no fighter, her exposing attire and soft features making it very apparent... But she was no push over. For such a gentle disposition, she held a kind of strength, a raw passion... She was lost, she was tired... And maybe even a little hungry... But she didn't dare move. Yet, despite her exhaustion, she felt sleep elude her. She knew she needed some help. And so she sat, quiet on the bench, her hands folded neatly over her exposed stomach, watching the fireflies dance and parade as they celebrated the new fresh night... And the luminous maze of stars above.
Open! She could use some info for just a talk.
• a tall grey skinned woman covered in tattoos with bright purple eyes and hair. She walks by clearly not caring that its raining as she walks by wearing a light blue t-shirt and black shorts. When she walks past every step she take plants grow where she once stepped. She doesn't notice her right away.

  • I had two thoughts when I first saw her. Why in God's green Tatakai was she blue? And, why is she wearing minimal clothes? While both questions are to be asked later, it did not change the fact I was looking at her through a pair of binoculars. I was searching for Legion troops, but instead I found a possible new member, just sitting on a bench. I was a man that could very easily read faces, so, even though there were some obvious signs, I could tell she was absolutely exhausted. I would've offered to help her to a room that she could sleep in, but a New Californian Ranger in full Riot Gear and trench coat would more than likely scare anybody off. My lenses were still in sneak-sight mode, made it easier to see targets that were sneaking around, like the Legion. It also happened to make the lenses on my helmet red, making it even more menacing. Having an Anti-Material and Sniper rifle on my back probably wouldn't help make a good impression, either. Especially when the Anti-Material rifle had painted skulls on it. Couple that with the Riot Shotgun on one hip, a hunting revolver on the other. Now that could put fear into even the toughest of Caesar's Legion. I was very clearly visible to the woman from where I was standing, so I decided to actually walk over to her instead of just watching her. I slung the strap on my binoculars over my neck, and let them dangle. I took my helmet off, allowing for my jet-black hair and dark brown eyes to be seen. I had some rough stubble on my chin too, even though I'd shaved two days before. With a smile on my face, I approached the woman, brown boots hitting the ground with a soft thud. "Hey there. You look tired. Need somewhere to sleep? We've got plenty of rooms around here." I put on the gentlest tone I could, which was still pretty gruff.

  • She seemed surprised, but not really afraid. Rather, she seemed curious, her beautiful eyes tracing over Grant carefully. No judgement passed her gaze, but she was clearly defeated by her travels. "Oh! N-No... I mean, y-yes... But..." Her awkwardness coupled with her exhaustion made her words stumble, her head hanging slightly. "I-I'm just... Tired."
Awesome reply btw
• "Can you still walk? I know a place you can rest, maybe get a little food. Worst cokes to worst, I can just carry you. That is, if you want somewhere to sleep." I was thinking about what I could actually say that would make this not seem like I was forcing something onto her, but I felt as if I failed. Really need to work on being so pushy on stuff... Well, that's for another day. For now, I had a blue lady I had to get some help. I could tell she'd come a long way with little food or rest, could see it in her eyes, the weariness. Same look on my face when I first got to the NCR at Shady Sands. That look never means good news, always bad. I was just glad that she didn't get scared because of the copious amounts of weapons on my back. I had too many at the current moment, I was about to go hunting for Legion when I saw the woman.

  • She shook her head. Her feet were torn and horribly maimed. And she didn't exactly wanted to be carried... Besides, she was waiting for her companion to catch up shortly. "I-I need to stay here... Just a l-little while longer."

  • It was at that point that I had actually looked down at her feet. Being honest, it looked like some Legion Mongrels had gotten ahold of her feet. I pull a stimpack from one of the pockets on my coat. "I can fix your feet up, if you want. Looks like you didn't even wear any shoes on your journey. Exactly how far did you walk?"

  • She thought for a moment about the question... How far... How far had she gone? How long had she been away from home. "I guess... A couple months." She finally remarked, looking up at the Ranger with a meek smile, her eyes still bright despite her tiredness. "And I d-don't mind help... I r-really don't..."

  • I lower the stimpack down to one of her feet, and it hovers above it. I know I'm about to probably save her a nasty infection, but this was my last stim. What if the Legion showed up? What would I heal myself with then? Healing powder? That stuff takes a few minutes to work, and even then doesn't fully heal wounds... Damn it all. I have to. I have to give her the stim. Worst case scenario, she loses her feet to an infection, and I'd be to blame for not helping her. "Now, this will sting for a second, but I think that you've probably felt worse walking for so long with no shoes. Just hold tight, let the meds do their work, okay?" I insert the stim into her foot, and it begins to mend the wounds, not really fast, but enough to where there is a significant amount of relief on the wounds. I pull a small sack from the same pocket the stim was in, and untie it. Inside was around two batches of healing powder. I apply it while the stim works it's magic, and it helps speed up the process. The areas that have healed are not even scarred. "There. Mostly all better. I'll give you some healing powder to finish the rest off, but it'll have to be in small doses. It's very concentrated."

  • She winced slightly at the stimpack, but made no sound. She was tolerant, especially with the previous pain... But she was happy for the relief. "T-Thank you." She responded gratefully, wiggling her toes slightly. Such simple mechanisms... But they meant so much... She became so focused on the lack of pain, she drowned out the rest of the ranger's words... Not on purpose... But just because she was basking in the feeling.

  • "Here's the powder you'll need for the rest of the treatment. You'll probably be able to use it in an hour." I set the sack beside her on the bench. "Hey, are you hungry? You said you've been traveling a while, and you don't exactly have a way to carry food, so I would assume you are. We got plenty of food here, hell, I've even got a few pieces on me. Doesn't bother me much if you want any. Just slowing me down from the sprint back to the Dojo when I snipe some Legion."

  • Legion. She raised her eyebrow to the name but didn't quite ask. Instead she just nodded slightly and gave a grateful look. Any and all help was welcome. "That would b-be very kind... Thank you." She looked to where the Dojo was further poised, interested by such a place.

  • "Okay. I've got some old mac and cheese from 200 years ago, some pieces of squirrel, some soda that tastes like sarsaparilla of all things, an iguana on a stick, some roasted gecko, some steak, a soda that tastes like Coke, and around 30 different versions of that soda, an omelet made from the most dangerous creature I've ever killed, various alcohols, some pinyon nuts, some mesquite pods, some water, and some casserole made from pretty much poison. Don't worry, all of this stuff is 100% safe, and actually tastes pretty good. Except the mac and cheese. I just keep that for emergencies. If none of that tickles your fancy, we can just go to the kitchen where an alien cooks most of the food."

  • She didn't know what most of those were, instantly bewildered and confused. "Uhhh..." She gave him a curious look and tried to think on what he was offering. Iguana? What could that be? A fruit? Coke? She didn't know... But she didn't want to seem crazy. "I'll eat the coke..." She finally said, determined not to look stupid... Hopefully.

  • I chuckle, it was clear she didn't know what any of what I just said was. I pull out a bottle of a dark brown liquid, and I take out one of the pieces of roasted gecko, along with a plate I had happened to have on me. Guess I just ended up with it when I was raiding the Legion. I put the roasted gecko on the plate, and hold it out for her to take, along with the cola. "You don't eat Nuka-Cola. You drink it. Here's it, and some gecko, has a pretty neutral taste. If you want anything else, tell me."

"Gecko...?" She looked at the food quietly quietly, not wanting to be rude. But she didn't really know what she was about to consume. Cola was drinkable... That wasn't bad. And the Gecko looked... Dead... It was large and... Large. She couldn't really use adjectives to describe the thing she was looking at.

  • "Dammit did I forget to cut it again... Second time this week." I pull a Bowie knife from my coat, and start sawing at the gecko's golden hide. Gecko hides get really tough when heated up, so I had to use a knife. Normally I'd just tear it apart, but golden geckos were tougher than most. Tasted way better, though. I cut a piece of it off, then set in on the plate. "There. Much better."

  • She looked at it closely, trying to peer into the back of her mind to what this food thing looked like. Well... Food was food. Yet, despite her hunger, she only took small bites, nibbles even. Old habit that refuses to die. Of course she nodded her thanks, her face beaming with gratitude.

  • I could tell that she was thankful for it, her face read as much. Though, I did think it was weird that she was taking small nibbles, even though she was obviously very hungry. At this point, I was thoroughly confused about her in general, really. It was then I saw one of them on the horizon. I very quickly put my helmet on, and switched on the sneak sight. I pulled out my Anti-Material rifle, and took aim. I was about to squeeze the trigger. One shot, and he's dead. I then thought about what would happen to the lady beside me if I started a fight. She has no armor. No visible weapons. She'd be torn to shreds. I sigh as I put my rifle back on my back, and take my helmet back off.

  • She saw the motion. She wasn't dumb after all. She said nothing, but merely gave him an understanding look. She was naive, but she was also perceptive... And she was more protected than he thought. With a gentle smile, she pulled a small near perfect circular stone from her dress, holding it carefully. She wasn't a fighter, but she had protection...

  • I noticed her motion as well, is Rangers have to be trained to keep an eye on everything, after all. If she had any protection, it probably wasn't enough to stop a hail of .50 MG explosive rounds. Normally I'd shoot, but I'd rather not have another innocent under my "People I've Gotten Killed" list. Not again. Never again. I turn back over to her. "Sorry about that. It's one of the Legion. I just can't help but want to pop their heads like water balloons when they get near. Wouldn't want to get you killed."

  • She shrugged. She still didn't know who he was referring to. But it didn't matter. She'd keep herself safe one way or another... "I see..." She responded simply, not really going to interrogate him about his situation.

  • "I have a question for you. What exactly are you? You don't look human, and I haven't seen any other races like yours. That wasn't meant to be insulting, just so you know." I was genuinely curious. It's not often I see a blue lady walk into the Dojo. In fact, it hadn't happened before today.
