If you are willing to pay for the silver and spend the time conveying it into Legendary Marks, you can buy planetary materials and rank up with factions as much as you like. Except for artifacts (which drop in Iron Banner btw) you can reach max light without having to actually play the game. This is ridiculous and the game needs a hot fix ASAP.
