What's happening?

Offtopic has gotten itself into a cycle of repetition. People come talk about trending topics such as politics and the latest memes. They leave, with the remaining being anyone left over and anyone who was there prior to the event. After around 3 months of this, 95% of the people here are relatively new with the 5% being old members. The only reason why I'm here is because I'm waiting out this phase of Offtopic until it becomes what it used to be.

Been in offtopic only for the past 7-8 months. Can't tell you much of what happened before that. Some people left, some people joined, new (not saying I'm not new) people will probably start coming around again soon. Lately, too many posts on politics. Obsession with the election has at least drowned out some of the worst religious threads. They'll be back after the election probably though. It's rare that a good thread shows up. A few threads on satanism, necromancy, a music compilation thread, and a custom computer or phone background thread based off of usernames are some of the most memorable in my opinion. Over the past week there has been an explosion of like/bump to make me do something posts, which is annoying. There was a raid on #Gaming by making the top 24-25 posts about solitaire. If you're looking for specific people, there are still some relatively active older users. MadMax, The Cellar Door, DTL, Recon Number 54 (haven't seen him in a while though), and Lord Nocturne all come to mind. Crazy Lincoln and Princess Anomaly are gone. A bunch of people complain about ninjas, a lot of them for ridiculous reasons. Offtopic feels rather inactive as of late. Hopefully it picks up and we start seeing better threads after the election. Hopefully I can stick around until this phase is over because I'm hoping it will get better.

Same, first time on here since 2015

Edited by The Cellar Door: 10/5/2016 11:05:36 PMEverything's pretty much the same, some people left, some people came. As for the general state of the community, the zeitgeist has shifted a little bit, and I feel as though the ninjas come around a little less. I never felt like joining TFL, but as a prominent community group, they've been noticeably quiet lately, so that definitely detracts from the community feel around here. Haven't seen a Bungieball in months either. The functionality of groups is arguably worse than before. Somehow Sep7agon is still a thing. And Sapphire made their own off-site. That's pretty much this year in review if I remember correctly.

Conservatives bitching about liberals. Christians questioning atheists. Majority shitposters. Very little effort around here.
