Still no Sunsinger changes?

[b][u]Song of flame[/u][/b] [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/211127468](thread)[/url] -[u]Needs[/u] a visual AOE rune so my team can know that i'm using it. -It REALLY needs to let my team know that i'm there for them and that i'm not about to go running around spamming grenades unless they are with me. -Perhaps they don't want to steal my orb making kills? (Ally kills while under the influence of SOF could grant orbs?) -Right now i CANNOT get them to notice and utilize this buff. I end up having to chase teammates around frantically which sucks up the entire duration of the super before we get to someone. [u]-Suggestion #1:[/u] A short term minor shield for 2 teammates in the immediate area? Exactly like the Nightstalker's invisibility buff. (support) [u]Suggestion #2:[/u] A ranged cone of melee damage tier burn? I would feel more like a warlock. (offensive) [u]Suggestion #3:[/u] Basically Force push (or taken phalanx), say a guy is charging at you with a shotgun, then you shove him several meters away. Uses up charge no matter if it hits or not. (utility) [b][u]Viking Funeral pve Debuff[/u][/b] [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/210388024](thread)[/url] -3(or 2.5?) seconds for 5% damage (stacks 3 times but doesn;t reset the timer). Just try actually making use out of this perk. [u]-Suggestion:[/u] 10% for 10 seconds that stacks 2 or 3 times? (something that makes me want to use it over Radiant will) -It takes way too much perk and exotic investment to try to make use out of this perk. [b][u]-Solar grenades[/u][/b] -Opponents are not scared of these grenades, which is important because they seem to be the area of denial type. -Also the only way to use these is if you have sunbreakers, The duration is extremely short. -Its not even possible to keep a player off a capture point with this, the radius is too small. -A sunsinger should have good ranged grenades for area control, they are warlocks. [u]-Suggestion #1:[/u] Solar grenades blind/disorient targets so they do not want to enter them once thrown. [u]-Suggestion #2:[/u] Increase the size or damage of Solar grenades [b][u]Firebolt grenades[/u][/b] -Put simply, you almost have to throw the grenade at the targets face for this to hit them. -This used to be the grenade to use for your super since it actually killed people and could push them -VF was reworked, so this grenade could return to how it was prior. -It's to the point to where i use solar grenade in PvE because at least they look pretty. [b][u]Heart of the Praxic Fire[/u][/b] [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/210751177](thread)[/url] -Reduced cooldown ability actually only grants one extra grenade during a spamming super from my testing (with or without DIS), I'd really want it to scream "that guys a team player" -You don't need to buff it, just change the perk to something more useful (and hopefully SS support oriented) -The bonus agilty is nice(keep it!), but that shouldn't be the main feature. [u]-Suggestion #1:[/u] Increases the Song of Flame AOE and grants alies a shield [u]-Suggestion #2:[/u] Kills while in radiance extend the duration (noticably) [b]Random stuff:[/b] -Flame shield will use up the charge even if it doesn't apply. Also it does not seem to protect me from a melee, just an FYI if you still think this is a instant melee win ability. -I just don't really find flame shield worth it anymore, since you cannot depend on it when you actually need it. -I feel like bungie is telling me that i can only use fusion grenades/flameshield/Radiant skin. -If I have to switch up my exotics and skill tree perks every-time before i use my super, something is wrong. -Its extremely easy to get shut down, everyone challenges sunsingers at once since they are an easy kill. [b]Using radiance is pure suffering[/b]. [b]TLDR:[/b] Song of flame needs a visual AOE rune, HotPF needs an exotic perk, Solar wind doesn't really do anything, solar grenades need to actually deter people, Viking funeral is extremely awkward to make use of and isn't effective.

        I'd suggest: -Remove the hidden charge-rate penalty on Scorch during Radiance. (It's a super! Fear it, respect it!) -In addition to an AOE rune, Song of Flame gradually grants a shield to allies, about 5 to 10 HP per second up to 20 to 30 HP (crucible scale), fading 5 seconds after Song of Flame is no longer applied. Enough to reduce incoming damage and encourage allies to rally around you, even when abilities aren't worth using (i.e. guns for damage phases on bosses). The game could use a healing super other than shields from Ward of Dawn, anyway. -Slight buff to Radiant Skin's effect. -Heart of the Praxic Fire extends Radiance duration on kill (on minions of darkness only if necessary). Also, some combination of: -Remove Flame Shield delay. (Alternatively, PvE only) -FOR DEFENDER TITANS: Disintegrate with Gift of Light grants Force Barrier on hit rather than on kill. We could all use the Orbs that come with it, too, y'know!

        • You are asking for a sunsinger change already? It's only been a few months. I think hammer of sol deserve some love before sun singers considering it's been almost a year since they have been nerfed and still haven't gotten any real changes.

          • completely agree. Song of flame is a missed opportunity and team members don't even realize it's being used or capitalize on it. Solar wind really needs something. Doesn't even work. And yes couldn't agree more that its kinda dumb that you have to build your entire sublclass around an exotic. If you change your armor you basically have to change your build. Not using an exotic on this class is actually a huge detriment most of the time. A thing that I would have liked to see is for sunburst to work on all enemies killed by your abilities. Basically a solar bloom. Imagine how much better solar grenades get in PvE.

          • It's already good IF you use the other perks besides 'Fireborn' you also get an OP perk that basically gives you Super armor and your able to use weapons as a bonus so yeah, you can't complain about that. That's the only super in the game that can use weapons.

          • I used to love using solar grenades with viking funeral but now not only is the DPS worse then just using my weapons but now the perk has a high chance of not working at all. Threw a grenade right on the boss and got white numbers not yellow.

            • I agree it needs a buff, Sunsinger is the only class in PVP I don't back away from when I see someone using it.

                Anyone know if Song of Flame stacks with the Memory of Skorri artifact? Could be a pretty potent support role if so. Edit: nevermind - I was having a senior moment.

                • I think the super should be made more useful. Like a huge buff. I'm thinking greatly increase the range of song of flame to like scout rifle or even sniper range and have greater effects the closer you are to the sunsinger Have it reduce the cool downs of friends' grenade, melee, by half. At closer range like auto rifle or hand canon distance have it give increased recovery and a small over shield as well slightly increasing super charge rate At very close range, like a titans bubble, have it give reduced cool down of all abilities, a small over shield, increased recovery, and a small amount of solar damage added to weapons. So basically the super would be similar to ward of dawn but trade having the shield for having both weapons and blessing of light Basically I want it to be an actual support/buffer and be as much of an asset to raids as tethers and bubbles Obviously I'm biased as a warlock main so this might be too much, but I'm thinking mostly in terms of high level pve like raids

                    I am a Titan and I approve your post...:) And BTW...Y2 HoPF is total garbage...very very very garbage. Need to be set back like Y1. Bungie need to stop make Exotics become garbage...no excitement at all.

                    • Bump. Sunsinger needs a buff all around. Only thing we have now is Fusions and Self Rez. Titans and Hunters are too blame for sunsingers current state. Thanks to their bitching on the forums. Flame shield is beyond worthless in pvp. It doesnt do shit. I did once see a funny article about Bladedancers complaining they can be killed by a shotgun and melee and that shouldnt happen to a super. To any who saw that and read this. Same thing happens to a self rez all the time.

                      • So many times, I melee someone with a charged melee, he melees me back, I die Respawn with no melee energy wtf? did my Flame Shield just vanish into nothing? It sure didn't trigger to keep me alive, so where did the charge energy go?? That whole 'delayed Flame Shield activation' nerf (see old patch notes) is bullshit and makes the perk useless, because especially when Constant Lag is a factor, melees are always instant trades. Defender Titan's sure don't have a delayed activation on their melee shields...
