Vulpix is Ice, Ninetails is Ice/Fairy, and Sandshrew and Sandslash are Ice/Steel. [spoiler]The reason why these Pokemon have new forms is because of the extreme environments within the Alola region, forcing them to adapt in rather extreme ways.[/spoiler]
