She gets thrown back to one of the control panels, running up to it and starting to hack into it. A Sanguine Eximus comes up to the hooded man and sends its maggots after him. (It's a Brood Mother, in other words.)

"Oh no you don't!" [b]He hops off the thing, rolling on the ground, and shooting a dark essence at the key. A black hole of sorts pops up in front of the key and it flies through, the black hole immediately closing. He is kicked forward, sliding across the ground as the thing charges him once more. He turns, stabbing forward with his sword at the beast [/b]

*The black hole reopens right in front of the portal, the key spat out on the front of it, as the Beam Device becomes 35% complete.*
