So for those players who don't play Elder Scrolls Online, one of the biggest updates has just hit the consoles. This update makes all enemies in the game the exact same level. Your character is scaled to the level of the enemies you fight as you get stronger. Restrictions on where you can go to quest and level have been entirely lifted and you can now play the game with and see players of opposing factions in PvE content (Cyrodil and Imperial City is unchanged.)
So for those of you who play Elder Scrolls online, are you excited? Is there any new armor sets you're looking into incorporating into your builds? For those who have purchased the game but have not touched it for a while, would these changes entice you into coming back? Would those attract players who have not played before?
Below is an overview of a build I'm working on and what I will be running with this update.
One of the armor sets I'm personally looking forward to is the Rattlecage set. The 3, 4 and 5 piece bonuses grant spellpower and major empowerment at all times (20% bonus to spell power.) My Templar is a bit unique. He's a hybrid between a Tank and a Healer. I run full heavy armor and a restoration staff for healing with dual wield swords on my backbar.
My ability bar is set up with Breath of Life for emergency healing, Ritual of Retribution and Mutagen for area heal and heals over time, healing over time and major mending buff (20% bonus healing,) Inner Rage as a ranged taunt to catch aggro and Immovable Brute for extra armor raiting. My Backbar with swords has Puncturing sweeps, Restoring Focus and Radiant Oppression incorporated in with my taunt and Ritual. The two Ultimates I run are Barrier and Warhorn for soaking up damage and buffing my allies as needed.
My character is a Breton for the extra magic resistance, I'm also a Vampire because that Undeath ability (at 50% health and lower, 33% reduction in damage taken) is very strong for tanks. I have champion points into elemental defender so fire is no problem at all. I run the Pariah set (3 peices of jewelry, 2 armor pieces) and that increases your armor rating as your health lowers (stacks well with Undeath.) In all heavy armor I have no issues with sustaining magic use and no issues surviving hits without sword and shield (unless veteran trials I'm assuming. I haven't done any trials and I'm assuming tanking in there is much harder.) My only weakness is that I have no extra spell power. My character can't do any damage at all. The Rattlecage set is going to remedy that. I can't wait to see what this monstrosity I'm building will be able to do!
That was one of my biggest issues, so yea I'll probably get back into it.
-
It's so weird to see Riften so...spread out. Same with Windhelm.
-
I just wish it didn't cost money to change the way your character looked.

Currently in Deshaan, more specifically, Mournbound. There are no quest breaks here. It's just quest after quest and they're all main quests. I just finished the plague quest and now I'm finishing off the military cult (forgot their name). I also have to deal with another quest that relates to house dres and I need to kill the three vicious beasts in stonefall and then sees-all-colors needs me and the prophet wants me to come back to harborage andJesus Christ I can't take it all. Not finishing a quest and switching between unfinished quests bugs the hell out of me.

Edited by Superpug: 10/21/2016 2:44:42 AMThe new menu/home screen whatever looks really cool. I thought I'd be able to finally play Craglorn (since I have no friends) but as a survivability tank it's a bit much since my damage sucks. I'm just waiting for Deltia's guide for tanking to come out. Farming plunder skulls is nice. Crowns are also on sale.

I had 4 v16s and stopped playing. The developers are seriously mentally challenged. They need to shitcan the whole team and bring in people with actual experience working on MMOs. Not the janitor, receptionist and lunch lady from Bethesda.

The new weapon ultimates are bad ass! It's also really cool to be able to duel your friends or just watch fights break out all over the place
-
I got the full hollowjack style and it looks awesome
-
I remember the patch notes said there were new motifs...if so, anyone know what they are?

-
So where's the zone progression? WoW did this for Legion... I'm not overly enthused by it.
-
Wooooo! I can actually find people for anchors now!
-
Yeah it's nice not to have areas that are completely useless to me. I'm really not a fan of out leveling content anyway, the second I can go through content without effort is about the same time I lose interest. So I'm enjoying how that side of things has changed so far. I just want to know when I can get my dam house lol. I understand we'll all have a quest to get a little apartment type house, but I'm not sure it's been added yet. Anybody have any info on this?
-
No this won't bring me back. The whole point of building up my character on PvE was so I could just stomp all the enemies in lower level zones. In fact I may just trade my copy in on some Gummi Bears or something.
-
Nothing they do will make me play that game again my only regret is buying the digital copy.
-
So what does this do for progression? What's the point if it just scales you up as strong as you need to be? (Not trying to sound rude, I've been thinking about coming back but this seems like a step backwards to me)
-
Havent done much since I've gotten on, still farming skulls for the event. At most, I've tried the destro staff ultimate, which looks cool. Idk if its worth using instead of meteor, but the other weapon ultimates seem like they'll be pretty good. Gotta look into the new armor sets later
-
I'm hoping it will be updated by the time I get off work
-
I can't wait to play. I really need to look up more info about good armor sets though.
-
Might have to re buy it now.
-
Funny enough I was reinstalling it today
-
The level scaling part sounds lame, though I see why they did it. Update sounds cool, though. ^-^
