Hello fellow Guardians!
Destiny sure has come a long way from the days of its inception. As such, many weapon changes have shifted the balance of the game from time to time. However, there is always something that nearly every Guardian believes to be too powerful for crucible combat. There were the days of the Suros Regime, the Vex Mythoclast, the Last Word, the Thorn, etc. etc. Guardians clung to these guns in order to achieve glory in the crucible. However, there have always been those who sought to argue for change. As such, the meta has always been shifting. One thing always remains. Since I began my journey through Destiny, I have not found one meta where people were not complaining about shotguns, the close quarter kings.
I understand that there is frustration on how deadly shotguns are. But where does this frustration stem? Are primaries too weak? Is it too difficult to dodge a shotgun warrior? Are certain subclass traits to blame for shotguns? I would like to see what the community thinks about it. My opinion on the matter is that shotguns fit well in the current meta. The main issue people have, in my opinion, is that they are too focused on attempting to outgun a charging shotgun guardian while ignoring the opportunities to avoid them and thus gain the advantage. I may be biased. I do enjoy using shotguns as I prefer a rush and gun
play-style. In addition to this, a majority of the maps are close quarter centered. However, I do also enjoy sniping.
There is only one thing that I implore my fellow guardians to do. Please refrain from belittling your fellow gamers for using their preferred play-style.
