That day, the Mountains of the dojo had been particularly chilly, with sounds of gunfire echoing through the Mountains.
On the coast, near the base of the mountain Xavier was leading a squadron of six troops through the forest, avoiding gunfire from a Bandit camp.
His second in command, a guard by the name of Broadside ducked behind cover, pulling Xavier with him as bullet flew directly past where he had been standing.
It a tree, the bark flying everywhere as it easily put a large hole through the middle.
The tree groaned and collapsed downwards, right on top of one of the guards, leaving only five left and Xavier himself.

This was not going according to plan. While he leaned up against the rock, he switched to his sidearm, switched the bullet type to incendiary and blindfired.
-
Broadside saw this, and put a hand on your shoulder, trying to get you to conserve ammo. "Troops. Get as close as you can. Keep formation." The four troops follow his orders, getting as close as they can to the two of you. "Who's still alive?" "Achilles." "Matt." "Ray." "Clay." "Alright. Sir, we can't get any further with that sniper pinning us down. Any suggestions?"
-
"Well, does any of you have any explosives?"
-
"I do sir! Grenades And C4. I'm the squad demolitions" "Well then get over her!" "Providing cover fire" There was the scatter of gunfire as a Matt slid behind the rock with Broadside and Xavier. The shooting stopped and Matt did a salute "Reporting"
-
"Are you able to lob those explosives into the sniper battlements? Somebody needs to cover you if you're not close enough."
-
"Yeah I'll have to get closer. But I could most definitely lob em into the snipers" "Excellent. Clay will move up with you, provide cover if a Bandit strays from the camp and attacks you. The rest will provide covering fire."
-
He switched back to his rifle, loading a new clip and preparing to fire.
-
"Three." Broadside raised his weapon. "Two. One" He peeked around the side, firing while a scatter of gunfire came from nearby trees, rocks or ditches. Matt bolted, and from the trees Clay began running as well. The two were sprinting directly towards the camp, and snipers
-
He fired at the snipers to throw off their aim.
-
"WATCH THE FLANK MATY!" From what you could see, there was a large explosion, and a singular body flew into the air. The gunfire stopped, save for the gunfire you could hear over the comms and occasional yelling of Clay. Broadside and the others advanced forwards, getting behind cover every now and then
-
He did the same as the other soldiers, firing as he went.
-
We quickly approached Matt and Clay, who were pinned down by bandits. We're on the outskirts of the camp, almost able to punch through
-
"Matt! Are you close enough?"
-
"I've taken one down. I can't see the other! I can't get a location. He seems to be moving around."
-
He looked around for any type of cover that would at least help him sneak around into where the snipers were.

Edited by Royal Blade: 10/23/2016 6:31:42 AMThe outskirts could just barely be seen, although there were mostly stumps around the camp, not trees. The bandits cut them down for view, but if one were to make a beeline for the camp with cover.. >Make a run for the camp. >Take your time, use the stumps. >Improvise, create your own plan.
This is an example of a choice! This may or may not shape the rest of the quest...
He counted his options, then he sighed. Maybe he'll pick three. Pulling out his Amp once again, he started to gather up energy for something different. He then released it, terrorising a bandit in hopefully panicking him. He had to pray that he'll get jumpy and shoot one of his own friends.
-
The Bandit panicks, as predicated and hops backwards, spinning around and shooting wildly. His weapon starts clicking as several other bandits fall. He falls to his knees, taking a handgun and firing into his mouth, taking his life. The troops rush forward, making a bee line for the camp now that the defenses are down
-
"We better find that sniper!" He says, rushing up to their sniper battlements.
-
More gunfire as we make our way through the camp, the five troops seem to be doing fairly well but they are on guard. Suddenly, there is the sound of a trumpet and a there was a hail of gunfire. Ray tackled you, taking you and him to the ground as a green beam exploded over you. A mad chuckling was heard as our efforts came to a grinding halt
-
"Well, crap." He tried to see who was up there.
-
The man, or rather beast seemed heavily armored and immediately saw you. Ray pulled you down as the beam went over the Crate you were behind. Ray pushes you out of cover just as the beam hits the box and explodes. It sends Ray face first into the ground, steaming and you fly back, crashing into the ground on your back. Achilles jogs over, sliding behind a second crate and pulling you behind it. "Sir are you alright?"
-
"Yeah... I'm fine..." He started to lean against the crate, reloading.
-
"The Gunner is in a prime position. He can see all four of us remaining and it allows him to keep us in check. Should we use Matt's explosives?"
-
"No, I've got a better idea. You've read that I can dodge an attack, any attack, while I leave behind a static doppelgänger of myself, right?"
