Deep in the Forest, Two Miles from the Dojo Gates
The sound was deafening, the flash intense. Trees around the site were blown back, charred, and then the silence set in. From out of the shallow crater, a single figure walked forwards, and then came the second blast. A bang, a flash again, and a second, more bulky figure walked forwards. Walking forwards and out of the crater, the two figures were obscured in the darkness of night.
Both were cloaked, the first first bearing a hood to his, his body completely covered. The second bore a long cape-like cloak, tattered and torn. As they walked away from the blast site, the eyes of each of their helmets lit up, the bulkier figure's a hellish orange, the slimmer figure's a cold blue. Together they walked forth from the blast, off into the cold night, snow falling all around them.
Question. Is one of these Wilson?
-
Guess you'll have to find out.
-
Dammit... I have an NCR Ranger and I can't remember if Wilson genocided them and will hate him...
-
Yeah, he killed them too lmao. He doesn't hate them, he just kills them for the gear because he likes it.
-
Gonna take a chance, then. Just, try not to kill him, alright?
I had been out for my patrol, the damn Legion Explorers were spreading through the woods. I would kill any of those red bastards that I could. The Legion didn't deserve life. I was crunching through the underbrush with by brown boots, and my coat dragged the ground, it laying overtop my NCR Ranger Combat Armor. I hiked through the woods, my weapons jangling together on my back. Well, my tow weapons. I hadn't brought many with me. I only brought my hunting revolver, and my Bowie knife. Didn't feel like lugging around a twenty-six pound rifle around. That was when I saw them in the distance. Had no clue who the hell they were, and it looked like they didn't have eyes on me, so I called out. "Hey! You two! Who are you both!"
-
They both looked forwards to this being, one the bulkier of the two recognized. He shouted several unutterable obscenities to himself, and his companion approached the Ranger. They had yet to address him, until the slimmer figure, obscured by cloak, decided to speak. That depends on who's asking. he replied, voice mechanical and without emotion.
-
"A Ranger of the New California Republic is asking. But I'm not on behalf of the NCR right now. I'm on behalf of the Dojo while I stay here. I'm Grant." No sense hiding my allegiance. Would hurt me more than it would help in the long run. I did wonder why the other guy cursed when he saw me though... Was he an enemy of the Republic?
-
From behind the cloaked figure, the hulking one shouted. F*CK YOU I SHOT KIMBALL AND MADE HANLON P*SS OUT LIKE A B*TCH! The cloaked figure looked back to the Ranger, and spoke more calmly. I apologize. He's not used to seeing others from his dimension. Not very friendly towards them.
-
"Ah. I see. It's the Courier. I've heard about you. Not often I see someone from the Mojave. Now, I know a dumber man would shoot you on sight, but I'm not dumb. I'd rather not piss off the man who managed to murder our president. And, you, other guy, I'm used to stuff like this. Hell, I hear shit worse than it every day. The Legion have a camp set up near the Dojo. Assholes keep trying to kill me. And that shit doesn't slide. Say, Courier, you hate the Legion, right? I've heard of your work against them. If you would want to do something to harm the Legion, I'd be willing to help. Not that you'd need it, though. You killed Caesar for god's sake! Damn fine work."
-
LOOK DUDE I KILL EVERYONE, BUT THERE'S A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL FOR SLAVERS! Wilson shouted clearly. The cloaked figure seemed to have nothing more to say, remaining silent.
-
"Heh. That's something me and you can agree on. I tried to cripple them, killed the new Legate, actually. They just got a new one. Bastard's even worse than Lanius, and I saw what he can do firsthand when I was in Denver. Damn near blew my head off. I was going to return the favor, but you got to him first. Warmed me to hear the news, when I was coming back to the Mojave. Say, did you leave any of the NCR alive back in the Mojave? Specifically a soldier named Moralez? She's a... Private, I think. Husband's a Ranger. Well, was."
-
Probably..... not. Wilson said, approaching. The hulking behemoth was as he always was, covered in weapons and ammunition. I have this problem with deciding who not to kill, so I get everyone.
-
"Well... Damn. Now I've got another death I've got to tell the family about. You see, they don't know yet. About either of them. They live way back in Shady Sands. Too wrapped up in paperwork to tell people jack shit. Christina was a nice girl. Never did nothin wrong. Still, ain't gonna try and shoot at ya for it. Again, not stupid. I'd rather not pick a fight with the guy who could probably wipe out all of Shady Sands in one fell swoop."
-
That sounds like a good idea..... Haven't been out that way in a long time, feel like that'd be too easy... Wilson remarked, a bit of a laugh with it.
-
"Would put it past ya. They are tightening the security up there, though. Huh. I was about to go on a Legion hunt. Suddenly, I think it's a good idea to show you where the Legion's camp is. Let you see what exactly we're up against here, Legion-wise."
-
Look man, I don't need a plan. I go in, I shoot, I kill. Very simple. he explained.
-
"Didn't say you'd need a plan. Just thought you'd like to know exactly what we have here. Just to show you why I've had so much trouble."
-
Nah. Goin' blind is hella more fun. he said with wave of his hand.
-
"Heh. Can't say I don't agree. What weapons you got, man?"
-
More than you. he jested.
-
"I only have two on me right now. I have lots more back at the Dojo."
-
Edited by Trashcan Jesus: 10/24/2016 5:39:10 PMTwo? Guess you aren't much for variation, then. Ain't always bad to travel light. he remarked with a shrug.
-
"Yeah. I was just doing some scouting. Making sure the Legion isn't making any more camps. If they are, well, I always keep some extra C4 with me."
-
Can't say C4's my preferred method, but hey, do what you gotta do. he replied.

The night was cold and dark, even the moon's light failing to shed much visibility through the treetops. But even with the thick snow and low light, both figures could feel a presence watching them. If not the bulkier figure, surely the slighter one, for his soldier instincts. A glint, deep into the trees several hundred yards away barely made its self known to the pair, but known all the same..
