You clear with the activity when you get the reps. Before would not count. Plus I think the game reads the drop light level right at that time as well. O honestly was hoping to not get a drop the whole time.

What part are you talking about. With crucible and archon's forge, it is kills. Switching when Lord Shaxx says they've/you almost won and when the middle dome closes will net you the right light level gear and you still get the credit of the kills you made wearing masks before then. I know for a fact that it works as that is what I did.

The fitst two arcons forge droped artifacts. They never dropped after i took off the mask.
