Not taking sides right now but be careful with the word "free".
Not a single thing in destiny is free considering there is a cost to actually buy the base game.
If the game was free to play it would be a different matter.

It's a free update. I didn't have to pay for this additional content.
-
Actually you did. The idea that you buy a three course meal and the restaurant claiming third meal is free is not really a thing.
-
Terrible analogy.

-
But you did have to pay for the game. A person who does not own destiny does not get the update.

No way. News flash to me! I'm saying I was not promised this content upon the purchase of Destiny. This was FREE. ADDITIONAL. CONTENT. A d d i t i o n a l

Edited by EMW ZEEK: 10/30/2016 6:37:45 PMNot additional "promised". (Edit oh you said this I consider it promised) And it was still paid for by us even if indirectly. Also this conversation was about festival of the lost right? What content is there to begin with? 2 quests? At this point after listening to various people on the forum, reddit, and youtube I dont consider fotl to even be additional, content, or free like at all anymore. For something to really be free the person offering it needs to take some sort of a loss of revenue. Fotl alone has made bungie around 3 million dollars according to reddit. So is a company earning 3 million dollars really "free" to you?

Edited by Kreis: 10/30/2016 6:38:51 PMWasn't promised. I don't recall being promised festival of the lost or SRL upon the purchase of Destiny.

At vanilla we were promised "updates and events" Pretty sure that festival was then specified as being one of those events at the purchase of TTK. Sparrow racing might be a different story but we are not talking about that right now.
