"Not entirely... There is still some guilt and shame... But that just comes with running away from responsibility..."
She remarked simply, feeling such things that seemed normal, or at least should be normal. She thought about it, and thought she was happy, she wondered if her home really needed her... If she could have made a difference.

He nods, fingers laced behind his head and fiddling with his dark hair. "If that responsibility came with marrying someone you didn't love, then you did the right thing. That sounds like it's your Parent's problem, you didn't ask for it."

"Perhaps... But maybe I could have stopped the cycle... Fixed the politics. Leader of a free world. The distinction between the poor and rich is quite large, and it's unfair... But, it's a simple burden to carry..." She shrugged and slowly got to her feet, peeling away her good and the golden crest atop her forehead, unwinding her hair until the fire red colors drifted ever so slightly in small breezes... She almost looked... Normal...

"Should've, could've, would've. If you spend your time looking back, you'll never look forward." Wow. An almost inspirational statement from Desmond that wasn't cynical or sarcastic. He looked at her, eyes flitting over her quickly. She was gorgeous, that was for sure. The pale skin and bright hair, she was beautiful in an exotic kind of way. That wasn't what drew Desmond to her though..he shook his head and banished the thoughts from his mind. Relationships are ropes, love is a noose. Wetboy's don't love. They are alone, forever and always. Things Durzo had drilled into him from day one.

She turned to him slightly, just so that he was in her peripheral gaze, her words turning quiet and almost wistful... "Maybe... But this could all be childish... Running away to find something that might not even be out there..." She looked down at the golden crest in her hand, her old symbol of power and authority... It held no purpose here. "I don't know... That's the joy of growing up, you learn from choices. I suppose I will have to think on it, as I do with all things."

"Sometimes you don't have to think about things. Some, you just do. Spontaneously doing things makes for an exciting life." Not that he'd know. He'd never done anything spontaneous in his life, his whole life was on a constant loop of training and killing. Never deviating.!

"I don't necessarily want a exciting life. I still like being safe... I just want to be free... No matter. If it really meant anything, I'm sure it would come back to haunt me." Unfortunately, it already had... Her guilt was the biggest burden in her journey... Desmond helped ease it... But it never seemed to go away. "Well... I still have a few hours of darkness left... I'm going to go find something to do... Perhaps I'll even find a library." She gave Desmond a warm smile, pulling her hood back over her head, her hair still pushed into straight locks.
-
"I'll probably be here." He said with a wave. That was a lie, he'd probably follow her to the library. Unbeknownst to her of course, but he liked a good book too.

She nodded simply, slowly moving down the hill towards the lights of the Dojo... She'd probably spend awhile looking for food next... As she realized her oncoming hunger, but she had time... And so far her past hadn't caught up with here.
End?

Guess so.
