Pokémon question!!
Been playing a lot of Pokémon recently and I've been thinking...
Where do the professors get the starter Pokémon from?? We will have visited 7 regions once sun & moon come out & none of the 21 starters have been found in the wild!!
What region are they all native to?? Are they all from the same region?? Do you think we will ever visit?? How many of each Pokémon do the prof's have?? So many questions!!

6 RepliesStarter Pokemon are all manmade, like Mewtwo! :o In seriousness; in the anime (and presumably the manga) they are found in the wild, so canon-wise they probably are in the game, as well, and the fact that they don't is purely a gameplay mechanic.

4 RepliesThey are extremely rare. They aren't found in the wild because starters are supposed to be special. They're probably bred with Ditto.
