Expression unreadable, Wilson laughed.
For me to know and you to probably not find out.
Oh, right. I wasn't even thinking about the armor Wilson wore.
Vernon's expression lightens somewhat, and he chuckles. "I'll take that as a 'yes.' I can make more anyway. Show me your top three most high-yield explosives that you've got."
-
We talkin' nuclear or clean? I've got lots of both. he said.
-
"Clean. I'm trying to modify the missiles I carry in the suit; so I'd prefer not to incinerate myself and everything else within a few miles."
-
Well, if we're lookin' at suit-mounted, I'd look into somethin' along the lines of a SMAW rocket. Good anti-tank weapon, the warhead's fairly small and safe. You want just explosives, I've been foolin' around with some explosive gel, got a cocktail of it whipped up. Safe stuff, dries quick after application, and has one hell of a punch. And as usual, I've got some random plasma 'nades laying around.
-
"Mind if I see some of that gel? Sounds like something out of a video game, or a comic book. I just need to scan it, is all."
-
Nah, real deal. They use it for breaching doors. Also use the strips too. He entered the gunship, and came back out a few moments later with a gasoline can full of the stuff, and a strange gauntlet piece that was low and flat with two nozzles at the ends.
-
Vernon puts his helmet on momentarily, scanning both the items, and then takes it back off. "Huh, that's pretty neat. And that gauntlet is to deploy it, of course... How much you want for it?"
-
How much do you have? he retorted, a predatory nature to his voice.
-
Vernon started to laugh, finding the question to be more of a joke. "You're kidding, right? Up front, I'll give you 400. Or, if you do actually have a bank account somewhere outside of Vegas, I can transfer funds... to a certain point."
-
$400? Jesus Christ, Rick Harrison! Hell no. I oughta blow your f*ckin' brains out for insulting my taste in weapons. I can sell this back home for $7500 easy. He was clearly not happy about being offered low prices.
-
Vernon smiled a little bit, attempting to not let Wilson see. He knew that 400 would hardly cover a piece of the gauntlet, much less the entire thing plus the gel. He just enjoyed getting a kick out of Wilson, sometimes. "All right, all right, calm down. I can cover that, easy. Lemme just hop out of my suit so that I can grab my wallet." Vernon then disengaged the suit, and it opened up in a manner similar to Wilson's power armor. Vernon then got out, and reached into his pocket. He pulled his wallet out, and then produced the necessary currency. "7500, as requested." He then put his hand out to Wilson. Being outside of the suit revealed that the suit actually was quite thick, adding at least an inch and a half of armor in its thinnest area.
-
Wilson took the money, counting through it quickly, then sliding it into his bandolier. Looking back up, he gestured to the gel and the gauntlet piece, as if to say, "take 'em."
-
While Wilson counts, Vernon hops back into his armor, and puts his helmet back on. "Pleasure doing business with you," he said as he grabs the items. He then walks away, headed toward his ship.
-
Have fun at Chodezilla Station! Wilson shouted, clearly just to piss Vernon off.
-
"I will! You have a good time watching the kid who doesn't talk!" Vernon knew it was a weaker comeback, but he had his fun with Wilson when he low balled the price.
-
Shit he's twenty-two! He's younger than me but his bitch-ass is an adult! he shouted back, half laughing.
-
"You talk like you're an old-timer telling them damn kids to get off your lawn!" Vernon shouted, as he turned around and started walking backwards.
-
Because I am, you f*ckwit. He shot back.
-
"I have a feeling you're gonna start shooting at me if I push further! So, I'll see you around!" If Vernon knew anything about Wilson, it was that he was partial to murder if you pushed him just a bit too much.
-
Damn... guess I gotta change up the murder tactics... sh*t... He sounded mildly disappointed.
-
"Did... did I legitimately just hurt Wilson's feelings? Shit, I didn't think that was possible," Vernon thought to himself. "They've worked all these years, why change now? Something tells me only your closest friends can somewhat predict you!"
-
Did you actually think I'd f*ckin' change? You think I give a sh*t? he laughed, a bit maniacally. You fell for that? That's f*ckin' golden, dude!
-
"Ah, I just thought you were a soulless bastard who only cared about murder and money, that's why I fell for it!"
-
You're missing one thing: the like, four people I don't want to murder. he called.
-
"And who's that, besides Jackson and Crow?" Vernon called, his curiosity getting the better of him.
