On a serious note FoL takes a MAX of a couple of hours to complete the quest line on each character, and then after that you are 99% done with the event. Even 'causal' players must see that this event does not justify a 2 week span.
There is nothing to do expect spend your real money on Treasure packs, plus Bungie said that the reason silver is in the game is so we can have more and better events. Well clearly we haven't spent enough on silver or Bungie lied to us... I wonder which one is correct
-
$$$$$$$$$$ Same reason there will never be an option to collect postmaster items in orbit or collect rewards from orbit like faction rank ups. More trips to the social area means more times you are around the eververse. Bungie is implementing grocery store tactics to their game.
-
Money, that is why. But i suppose the key drop rate is terrible and apparently getting that shader from a chest isnt 100% that is it really
-
Edited by puppyk1sses: 11/2/2016 2:58:31 PMTo make sure you have enough time to open your wallet. Seriously, that's the only reason. Aaaaaaaany other reason and they would have new/recurring quests at weekly reset.
-
They want you to spend money. That's why it's a two week event.
-
Edited by Doc SoCal: 11/2/2016 2:27:43 PMThere was an event? I thought Bungie was just boosting 4th quarter revenue by selling shiny digital dollhouse items to the Pokemon crowd.
-
They're going to keep it going in hopes of more silver purchases.
Because BUNGIE focuses on extra $$$ instead of customer satisfaction
-
It's just to make bungie money, people spend over 50 quid on those treasure things. Same people will spend another 50 quid when srl comes out. To me that's madness, you could have an entirely new game instead of some cosmetic items in destiny. It's even rng, saw a video on YouTube of somone opening over 30 packages. He wanted the green sparrow and ghost ghost. He got neither, ouch. End of the day if people want to buy it they can, I've no problem with that. I don't understand why they pay for it though.
-
As a player that hasn't done the quests on his 2 other characters yet, I'm guessing it's still here for people that don't rush through everything.
-
It just means that I get to ride my broomstick Sparrow for a little bit longer, so I'm not complaining. Also it allows me to stock up on pumpkin heads which I bust out at random times during the year. It makes SRL funnier and on occasion I do it in pvp. PUMPINHEAD IS COMING FOR YOU!!!
-
I stopped doing the FotL crap by the second day and still haven't completed the quest that nets you the treasure box. Got both the Sea of Tears and Unquiet Spirit shaders (IMHO - both look terrible) and since I don't run ToO - not worried about that emblem and I'm not going to grind strikes in order to get a key just to open a chest that might have a chance to drop a shader. This year's FotL has been nothing but a thinly veiled cash grab. Heck Bungie even released a launch trailer for this year's FotL promoting Eververse. Sad and pathetic that we got only one launch trailer for RoI, but FotL gets two.. Here's hoping the upcoming SRL event won't follow the same pattern...
-
Isn't it obvious? The longer it's here the more tempted these idiots are to drop $50 buying silver. There is no other logical excuse for this to be a 2 week event.
-
Gotta make dat skrilla, yo
-
To me it didn't warrant the effort of actually creating it. I did the quests on my 3 characters in the hope that there was something more to be added in the following days or even after the weekly reset It really was just an undisguised and disappointing attempt to milk more cash out of the players ... and this is the opinion of a fan of the game
-
Maybe people shouldn't have complained so much about masks being temporary when it dropped the first time?
-
It also gives people time to get the shaders and such since they drop randomly
-
2 weeks = 2 weekly pay cheques for guardians to burn through on silver! ! Bungie is not stupid, lol. They are laughing all the way to the bank :p Bet they can't beleive their luck that stupid people will spend $50+ for a chance at a mask, that's the same price as a AAA title, for a mask? LOLOLOL
