There's not much else to say about the Presidential election, so let's talk issue that effect us more directly.
I'm in California, 45th district.
We've got a new Senator, Kamala Harris [current AG of CA] who I'm excited for. I'm super tired of the old Boxer-Fienstein era, so this is refreshing.
For representatives, 45th District is really conservative Orange County. We elected Republican Mimi Walters by a small-ish margin. She seems more moderate than a lot of the people here in OC, so I think that should be okay.
Yay weed.
Boo we didn't repeal the death penalty, but we did pass the measure about tweaking the rules on the death penalty.
Yay cigarette tax increase
Boo ammo regulation/restrictions

We had the smallest voter turnout in years, being about 55%. The majority of the state voted for Trump. As for propositions, Prop 205 (legalizing marijuana) was defeated and Prop 206 (minimum wage) and passed. Details on 206:
Prop. 206, also called the Healthy Working Families Initiative, proposed raising the state's current $8.05 per hour minimum wage during the next several years to: $10 per hour in January. $10.50 in 2018. $11 in 2019. $12 in 2020. Starting in 2021, the minimum wage would be adjusted annually based on cost of living.
