The Definition Of Boredom // Dojoville Bar // 7:32 PM // John "JT" Truman.
It wasn't the alcohol that helped JT cope, it was the boost of confidence that the alcohol brought and only that, for the brain of John was physically unable to get drunk. He sits on a barstool in an old west-themed pub as a merry piano riff courses through the bar and merry revellers sang their own lyrics in tables around him, but JT didn't partake in the chants. Instead he waited to see who would enter the bar next, a female to flirt with or a man to crack a joke with.

POV: Kaden I entered the bar, the humdrum stopping for mere seconds as they observed me. My Tactical combat boots and Modern shirts were a stark contrast to the old, ragged cloak I wore. My hood was up, but small tufts of my jet- lack hair spilled out from under it, resting barely above my crimson eyes. I strode up, the Tap, Tap, Tap, of my feet slowly fading out of audibility as the noise and activity continued. I sat down in your immediate right, ordering an ale. "You look worse for wear, partner." I state, my voice even and calm.

"Trust me amigo, wandering vaqueros don't often get time to rest up."

Well, a female did walk in, but it wasn't some stranger. It was someone he knew, someone her recognized. It was Keri. Keri'a appearance was drastically different now, but her milky, brown eyes gave her away. She now wore a pair of black tights, and a brown duster. Only the very middle button was buttoned, and she wore a white shirt underneath it. She wore a pair of simple brown tennis shoes, and a pair of dark green stud earrings. However, that wasn't what made her look so different. It was her hair. Her hair used to be so long that it drug the floor, but now? Not so much. It was now shorter than where her ears stopped, but it became fuller as it went up. She clicked her tongue, but couldn't get a solid read on anything. She bumped into people left and right, not being able to see. She eventually got pushed, and landed on the chair beside JT. She clicked her tongue a few more times, and a smile spread across her face. She looked over at JT. "Well I'll be. The cowboy himself. And here I was just looking for a stiff drink, and I found an old friend. Been a while. Nice to see you."
-
"Keri I advise you walk out that door, 'lest I flirt with you all night. You know what alcohol does to me you beautiful son of a bi- see?"
-
"JT, flirting don't bother me. And I already know that. I've been there when you an alcohol mix together before. And besides, why would I leave? It's really nice to see you... Well... You get what I mean!" Keri has a wide smile on, very happy to see JT alive and well.
-
"Alright. Just tell me to stop if I try to get in your pants. What's happening bud?"
-
"I've been hanging around the outskirts of Dojoville, taking out street toughs. The surprise on their face when a blind girl nails them with a bullet between the eyes... People in the town seem to like me. Oh, that, and I got a haircut. What's been happening with you?"
-
"Drinking, -blam!-ing, fighting. I don't do too much and work's been slow, so I can't operate too much."
-
"JT you're being serious? You're actually getting girls again? Good job then. When I last saw you in Cedyetica, you were having a tough time. Good on you! Heh. Just mentioning that place brings back memories. Good and bad."
-
"No, got one girl. Rest of the action was one night stands sadly, the girls had no intentions of relationships. And yeah, Cedyetica was fun. Cylak was AIDS in a country but Cedyetica was amazing."
-
"Heh. Yeah. Remember all the skyscrapers and stuff? Now that looked awesome. Huh. Skyscrapers. I remember when I used to live in Lance's skyscraper. That was fun. And nah, I ain't gonna cry about breaking up with him, we left on good terms. Besides, you know and I know I ain't one to cry. Besides that one time when you said you were gonna off yourself, but that's a special situation. You were one of my best friends, JT. And I'm hoping you still are."
-
"Dude, you didn't know? I lied, wasn't killing myself, was just going off the grid."
-
"Dude, really? Well, no use getting mad now. Wish you would've told me, at least. Eh, whatever. Hey, I have a question. Do you think I look better with long hair or short hair. I've heard both."
-
"You're legitimately beautiful either way, though I personally like the short."
-
"Thanks. I really do too. The long hair got in the way. Had to keep tying it up, and that took a really long time. And if you couldn't tell, I've taken some fashion advice from your old outfit. Dusters are way better than that stupid robe thing I used to wear."
-
"Old? I'm wearing this duster like I have for forty years now, maybe thirty."
-
"I can't tell exactly what clothing you have on, so I just took a guess. Still, the dusters are way more comfortable."
-
"Oh, hell yeah they are. Got a few pockets on me too so I'm decked out in gear usually."
-
"Heh. I still only use my folding sword and my revolver I got off that one guy who tried to kill me. Xavier, I think his name was. And that's not to mention the KAP-8 I still have. That stuff's really rare outside of Cedyetica... Running low. Gotta find a supply soon. That, or I start having headaches and vomit every day."
-
"Fam, you ever try advil?"
-
"Yeah, only KAP-8 works for Psions, though. It's really crappy."
-
"Yeah -blam!- that stuff, you got a supplier?"
-
"That's the thing. I'm looking for one. I've been running on one pill a day for a year, gives me migraines."
-
"My daughter might be able to help."
-
"You have a daughter? It really has been a long time! Well, for you. I was in cryo for a while, had some stuff wrong with my lungs, had to wait for the treatment to become available. Good thing I'm still absolutely loaded."
