When I got to Mt. Silver in original gold and finally beat red. Damn that took a while

1 ReplyIt happened at Ecuteak City of the Johto region, at the top of the Bell Tower. I reached the top as the sun merged with the western horizon, tinting the sky to match the color of gold. I gave the Kimono Girls the Clear Bell, and they danced in perfect unison to its chimes. As the lamps of the pagoda lit up, a bright flash in the distance heralded the arrival of Ho-Oh, the guardian of the skies. She flew around the tower once before roosting between all of us, and then cried out "Shaoooh!" One of the Kimono Girls told me that Ho-Oh was waiting for someone like me for a long, long time. I approached Ho-Oh, with my faithful companion Feraligatr at my side. Our expierences together have culminated to this moment, to this battle against a legend itself. We were ready.

Discovering pokemon uranium. So much more innovative than the Nintendo brand. That should be the next true release (not sun and moon). [spoiler]oh, to answer your question, I enjoyed evolving my Fallengel to a Belialdon and teaching it Infernal Blade.[/spoiler]

Heh, I enjoyed the numerous replays of my games, especially Emerald. One very specific memory of the "old" games was in FireRed, catching a shiny Koffing in the Pokemon Mansion.

1 ReplyI was probably 8 years old, playing Emerald. We had a long car drive to somewhere. I don't remember where we stopped, or why we stopped there, but suffice it to say I was in a tiny DMV-esque office waiting for my parents with my little Gameboy Advanced SP. I also happened to have the cable that let you trade back in the day. So this other family came in. Another 8 year old walked in with them. Lo and behold, he's got a Gameboy Advanced too, and sits right down next to me. Also playing Pokémon. So us two random, shy 8 year olds, who had never met, and been told to never talk to strangers, immediately hit it off, and we traded Pokémon within minutes. I still have the Aggron he gave me.

Getting 6-0'd by a friend then trained a new team, challenged him a week later and floored him with a 6-0. He was using a Meta team so greninja with protean and assault vest, priority mega lucario, dragonite multiscale choiced, etc. All I can say was the mind games were REAL in that second battle.

Quit my job, got my severance package and collected EI, lived off that for a month. Got drunk and high af every night, stayed up till about 4 in the morning. Used pokevision to find all the good stuff, and went all around the city on my bike with me and a few buddies, who were also baked/hammered. Good times. Looking back at it, it was probably the best summer I ever had.

My brother and I had a competition to see who could catch the Bug Pokemon worth the most points during the Bug Catching Contest on Silver and Crystal. He caught a level 17 Scyther which he was super happy about left with a pretty high score, With a few minutes left on my run I managed to catch a Shiny Venonat (My first ever Shiny!) His happiness went down after that lol. The very next day I hatched the egg the daycare gives you and it turned out to be a Shiny Tyrouge, didn't even realise until I bought him into a battle. Still have them sitting in the Bank on Pokemon Stadium 2
