"Where did you come from anyways?"
-
"It was my old home named Tarron. We were living a good life until a neighboring country attacked us. I joined the army for awhile. But I couldn't stand the horrors the war brought. So I ran off, looking to start a new life."
-
"What's the planet name? Sounds familiar."
-
"Some planet named Ronin or something like that. Never really tried to learn the name."
-
"And yet you fought for an army? Odd"
-
"Country and planet are two different things. I'm fighting for my country against another country. Not fighting for my planet against another planet."
-
"Good point. Still seems kind of odd. But that's just me."
-
"Yeah, I'll have to agree it's pretty odd. To this day I still wonder why we were never taught it in school"
-
"You purposefully weren't taught it??"
-
"I mean. It was a low-budget school system. Our dumbass president wouldn't make any laws to get more funding. Out all our cash into the military. Which is why most kids joined right out of high school."
-
"Heh. I see. Quite the president."
-
"Yeah, he was a jackass. The shit he promised. I'm telling you. He had to start the war. Only excuse to increase military funding by 75%"
-
"Holy shit. How much money went to you guys?"
-
"About 978 billion. We got more innovative technology. But Medicare was cut by 79%. Shittiest move ever."
-
"Damn that's really rough."
-
"Hey took millions from us. Everyone wanted him dead. Then before we could vote him out, the war started and we got distracted."
-
"How come no one assassinated him?"
-
"He had the military protecting him 24/7. He used every intimidation tactic in the book. The ban on guns made it tougher for people to do anything."
-
"What a filthy coward"
-
"And yet he restored a sense of national pride in our country. When our neighboring country attacked he was quick to declare war. Don't know why they attacked, they were our main allies. But, we quickly got the troops ready and launched our attack. We went days on fighting. Bombings, gunfire, some went on for hours without stopping. Then it took a turn for the worst, and I left."
-
"So you started losing? Is that it?"
-
"No, the battle was mostly a stalemate. But, I couldn't stand looking at the bodies of my fellow soldiers. Searching through the wreckage of buildings only to find the dead bodies of innocent civilians. I couldn't stand what I saw. Who was paying the price all because of a corrupt leader."
-
"It's war. War is terrible."
-
"I know but. It wasnt what I was expecting it to be. Should've ended monthes ago. But, it still rages on."
-
"I'm sorry. At least got out."
