"..........Can you fix me?"
-
"What do you mean by that?"
-
"Fix my head." Pan's voice suddenly sounds more serious and mature. "I only have so long, Grant. I can feel myself slipping...."
-
"Bedlam. Yes, what do you want to talk to me about?"
-
"This isn't Bedlam. This is me, Pan....Not that anyone knows the real me anymore. Even I have forgotten who I am."
-
I stop. "Oh. I see. What do you have to say?"
-
Pan gets off your back and stands in front of you. You can see tears running down her face as she places a hand on your shoulder. "Help. Me. Please. I can't do this anymore. I'm using the last of my strength to tell you that I can't use my powers anymore. If I do there won't be any going back. Also..." Pan chuckles through her crying. "...don't go too hard on John."
-
I slide my helmet off again. I look at Pan in the eyes. "I only need to know one thing. How old are you? Hell, all I need to know is if you're above the age of consent."
-
Pan shrugs. "I don't know, sorry. My memory only goes back a month."
-
"Dammit. Well, I'm still gonna go talk to him."
-
"Just...play nice, Grant." Pan feints.
-
I sigh as I pick her up, carrying her off.
-
You can see Pan's eyes open and close every once and a while.
-
I carry her over to my room, and set her in the extra cot I have, until she wakes up.
-
A very tired Pan opens her eyes and looks around. Her voice sounds exauhsted. "Where am I?"
-
"You're in my room, kiddo. Are you okay? You glad me worried."
-
Pan's voice returns to its child like state that Grant knows best. "Yes, father. I believe I'm okay, but for some reason *yawn* I'm extremely tired."
-
"You're tired because the real you came out for a second. The one that was before all what you are now. They only told me one thing. To make you stop using your powers. And something else, forget all I said about JT earlier. I was just really angry."
-
Pan seems confused. "This is the real me, father! What're you talkin' about? Don't use my powers?! Ha!"
-
"No, who you were, before all that Chaos nonsense came out. They said to tell you to stop using your powers."
-
Pan's eye emitted a red mist as her right arm started to be surrounded by a red aura. "There's nothing wrong with my powers, father."
-
"She said they were killing you."
-
"No, they're f-" Her arm catches on fire and immediatley stops. Burns are left on her arm. Pan starts to cry from the pain.
-
"Jesus Christ!" I run over, pulling some healing powder from my coat. I rub it into the wound. "See what I mean?!"
-
Pan protects her burnt right arm with her left. "Ow! It's fine! That had nothing to do with my powers!"
