*In the Dojo Courtyard, Mortar can be seen fighting with a shadow clone. The moves he uses seem unlike what he normally does, they seem to be more for defense as opposed to offense. When Mortar throws the shadow down it just gets back up, as if it weren't harmed at all. It's only when Mortar locks the clone's arm behind him and pins him to the ground does the clone stop fighting. Mortar gets up, brushing his hands a little, and looks at the shadow as it dissipates into nothingness*
Well, it was a little stiff this time, let's do it again.
*Mortar summons another shadow clone and continues fighting it.*

"Fighting yourself, I see. Not very efficient, but fun to watch." Fortis says, sitting down in a nearby chair.
-
Not myself actually, they actually are beings only similar to me through appearance, strength and abilities. Their minds function differently than my own
-
"I wish I could do that. It would be fun to fight 'shadows' of myself."
-
Yeah, it's a good thing to have a sparring partner anytime I want. *He chuckles slightly as the shadow figures spar themselves*
-
"How do you do that?"
-
How? Good question... I'm guessing that they are like, souls or something that manifest into my form, so they can copy anyone
-
"Could you teach me how to do that? It seems quite a useful trick."
-
*He is silent a moment as he watches the clones fight each other* As much as I would like to, it's not really something you can teach. Like teaching someone to breath, or how to make their heart beat.
-
"Darn it. How powerful can you make these clones?"
-
Honestly, I don't really know. I just use them to clone myself, so about my strength right now, give or take
-
"Have you ever tried making an army with them? A few thousand clones of yourself would be nearly unstoppable."
-
Yes, but it takes energy, and frankly I don't wanna be dead by the time they become an army
-
"I see. Can I try fighting one?"
-
I don't see why not

Fortis charges at the closest one with his sword he lunges at it and swings his sword in a downward arc.
-
*That one is caught off guard and dissipates into the ground, only to have a second one tackle Fortis*
-
Fortis punches the shadow directly in the face, then jumps up. He puts his sword and shield away and pulls out brass knuckles.
-
*The shadow recoils slightly, but gets into position, forming a sword in his hand, the shadows on it coming off in wisps*
-
Fortis kicks the shadows feet out from under him, and darts back so he isn't hit by the sword.
-
*The shadow jumps back before Fortis could kick him, then lunges with the blade*
-
Fortis dodges to the side and knees the shadow in the chest.
-
*It smacks him in recoil*
-
Fortis acts like he is going to fall down from being smacked, but then roundhouse kicks the shadow once he thinks he is doing to fall down.

Edited by ALIAS-F4LS: 11/18/2016 11:37:54 AMAma notices the sparring and curiously walks in on it. Her eyepatch scanning away as she tries to find logic in the replica Mortar is sparring with. "Sooo fighting yourself? Chronological paradox?"
-
Nah, a shadow clone of myself. *The clone notices him talking and swings for the face, but Mortar quickly grabs his arm, and twists it, causing the clone pain and making him fall on his back*
