Deep down, Chloe knew she would have been a better leader, but at the same time... She also knew that Aurox would be more effective. She would keep her silence on who he was... But she was glad the old man was taking charge. He was good at heart, and the other Inquisitor's would keep him in check.
"Then, good luck to you, my new Emperor."
"Impossible! He needs to have proof he is a leader! We need the Empress!"
Chloe rolled her eyes and held out her palm, producing a small blue rose, one she quickly placed in Aurox's empty hand.
"A promise... It's good enough."
Chloe radiated relief as Aurox rose and motioned for the monks to start walking.
"Then it's best I return... I return to stop this once and for all. And what should I tell the people about you?"
"I'm free..."

"And that she's well looked after by her loyal "mutt." Desmond says, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips as he watched Aurox walk away.

Chloe gave him a harsh stare, as the group headed off, the monks the most distraught... Chloe had faith in Aurox, even if he was grumpy... He was a good man if you didn't get on his bad side... Then she looked at Desmond, clearly unhappy. "I think it best for you to wait next time before fighting my people..."

Desmond glanced sideways at her, giving her a droll stare. "I'll decide what's best and who i fight Chloephina." He says, that piercing, dark gaze on her. He was clearly not one to be ordered or tamed, and she was no different. She didn't know that he was ready to kill himself in that fight, but that was mainly out of spite for Aurox. When someone came disintegrating doorways, he didn't tend to ask questions.

"Best for who...?" She gave him a flat gaze, her demeanor turning silent... Desmond had the uncanny ability of always putting her on edge. His words were frustrating and cold, leaving her wanting to say more... But... She had nothing. At this point, he was beginning to look like a lost cause... The sun had begun to set, and Chloe had been able to move without her cover, but now with a quick motion, the long umbrella unfolded from the air. Moments later... She was nothing but a black silhouette... She preferred the cover to hide her emotions... Besides, she didn't want to argue...

"When someone disintegrates your door and intrudes into your room, I didn't ask questions." In truth, he probably could've killed them all except Aurox in the hallway, before they knew he was even there. That's what he got for having a conscience.

"I was just worried..." She whispered, not even concerned if Desmond heard, her feet slowly carrying her towards the rooms. She'd go to see the damage, if there was any. Most Inquisitors weren't the type to leave trails, so her room was probably the way she left it... But she wanted to be there anyways.

"And so was I." He muttered, too low for her to hear.
See, you do care!
"Shut. Up." Desmond walked quietly after her, intent on getting a shirt..and maybe having a meaningful conversation.
You are so bullshitting yourself.
"I know."

The sun eventually sank, leaving the sky suspended in purple as they went, not long before they reached the rooms. Most were near to the courts and made travel easy. Chloe made her way into the large building, traversing down different corridors until she reached the hall her room was at. It was... Normal. No hole in the ground, her sleek black door still... There. Aurox had managed to leave it backwards, but it would still work. She slowly slid the door open and looked at the darkly lit interior, the same strange glowing lines crested along each corner to five of faint light, as well as strange floating paper lanterns... Home sweet home... Mostly. Chloe unfolded the cloak and then her umbrella, her orange eyes piercing the lowlight. She didn't quite turn towards Desmond, but she spoke in his direction nonetheless. "I'm going to rest... Best if you do the same..." And with that, she slipped through the doorway, the black door shutting behind her.

"Pass." Desmond mutters as her door shuts, turning around and heading towards his room to get dressed.
You're about to go do something stupid aren't you?
"Yep." The Ka'kari sighed as Desmond entered the room, walking to the back wall and began outfitting himself in his armor..
end..?
