I think the astronauts from the begining are the vanguard
Okay maybe it seems crazy but there are three astronauts and three vanguard. Also you know the vanguard are guardians and theyre aperently the best. Im thinking after the astronauts found the traveler the traveler made them into guardians and taught them everything so that they could teach other guardians or be some sort of leader
