Near death
Nathaniel thrusted his sword forward, which easily went through the dummy that had been set up in the arena.
He was sweating profusely, having been going at it for hours now.
Time had become a blur, nothing more then a mess.
He spun around, cutting a second dummy's head off.
That's a kill move.
Nathaniel dropped his sword, falling to his knees as he held the sides of his head with his hands
The image of JJ with a dagger in his chest, was stuck in his vision now. He couldn't seem to get it out
"Gwyn, I beg of you. Tell me how to forgive myself. Please."
He let go of his head, rocking back and forth slowly.

Tubbs walks up to him confused

Nathaniel slowly stands, grabbing his sword. He turns, spotting you "Oh hey."
-
What happened to you?
-
"Nothing! I'm fine. Completely fine."
-
Why were you holding your head?
-
"No reason! Thinking!"
-
Hmmm...
-
"Gotta think right?"
-
Nah. I hardly ever think.
-
"Well I believe that. No offense."
-
None taken pal. What're you gonna do now? I'm kind of bored...

As Nathaniel was holding his head, metallic footsteps could be heard approaching him from behind. Clang, clang... They stopped. Then, a computerized voice. "Your swing was a bit off. It's a bit more effective if you aim slightly higher." It was JJ, fully armored. Towering above most dummies in the room, and Nathaniel. "And are you still beating yourself up about that? Dude, I've taken beatings worse than that, and I've been actually killed."
-
How tall is he?"
Nathaniel quickly got to his feet, standing at his full 6'9 height "What if I had killed you? And you couldn't come back?"

Edited by jj1042: 11/23/2016 8:49:50 PM
Uh... 6'9 in the armor... So much for that towering thing.
JJ simply stared down Nathaniel for a moment, before eventually laughing inside of his suit. "Ah... Nathaniel, I've died about... what, somewhere in the twenties of times? A dagger isn't enough. Hell, I've been killed protecting this place a few times. Doesn't mean I like dying, but it's no issue. Plus, I've read up on you. Don't you come from a world of people who come back after dying?"
-
Lol
"You've read up on me? From where?"
-
"You told me you were the son of someone called Ornstein the Dragonslayer. So, I got curious. I looked through the Dojo archives, and dug around. I found some things, cross referenced with my resources, and found a little more."
-
"You looked me up? That's not weird."
-
"Well, let's be honest, you beat the shit out of me. If someone did that, wouldn't you want to try and know more about what they were capable of?"
-
Nathaniel chuckles "You think so? Yet you still won. Hehe. Congratulations by the way."
-
"Thank you. And yes, you got me pretty good. I've only been beaten worse than that and still won by one other person. And I think that fight stopped because neither of us could move, and I did just a little bit more damage."
-
"Huh. Just a tiny bit?"
-
"I'm surprised we weren't dead. Literally all either of us could do is whisper."
-
"So how the hell did you survive?"
-
"You know that red armor and black sword that formed whenever you stabbed me? Okay, that thing gives me protection, access to a little magic, and slightly heals me. I finished our fight with it at base power. Now take that power, multiply it about 300-fold, and you have somewhere in the ballpark of what I finished that fight with. I think that was all that saved me, along with the copious medical attention."
-
"...." Nathaniel doesn't say anything
