"Still,"
He muttered as he shifted uncomfortably. He didn't like it when people even seemed to get upset with him. Made him feel bad. If anything, he was too nice, really. Much too nice.
"A-Anyhow.. Uh.. Well.. Ahem. What now?"

Keri got visibly worried now. What was wrong with him? Did she say or do something wrong? "Hey, man. You okay? You seem a little... I dunno... Worried or something."
-
"Oh, no, it's nothing. You just seemed upset. Don't like it when people get upset. Only makes me feel bad about myself. Too nice for my own good." At least Luke's voice wasn't shaking anymore, and he even was talking rapidly again, the words just flying from his mouth.
-
"Heh. Yeah. You really are, from this conversation. I like that. Being nice is a real treat to see. Don't see it very often in people."
-
"I can't be mean. Makes me feel terrible. Hence why I don't want to upset people. Though, like everyone, I do have my breaking point. It's hard to reach, but I have it nevertheless. And, you seem very nice, too."
-
"Really? I always thought I was super obnoxious. I've been told that too. Mostly by gang leaders... Huh. Well, Lucas, you seem like a really great guy, in all honesty."
-
"People have told you that you're obnoxious? I think they're the blind ones, honestly. You're not obnoxious at all. You're a sweet and friendly gal so far. A really great one, at that."
-
"Awww... Thanks! Good to hear someone say that besides my drunk friends! And usually they don't even say that much. Usually about my tits or something. My friends don't get drunk often when I'm around 'em. They know that I do not know shame, and will do pretty much anything."
-
At the mention of her tits, most would've very likely looked. But not Luke. He maintained eye contact. Once Keri was done talking, he slowly nodded, thinking about her words before finally speaking, "If you're so shameless and willing to do almost anything, would you want to go out with me?"
-
Keri was surprised, but it didn't really show. She didn't expect something like that out of him. Oh well. She smiles again, and clicks her tongue once, to see if he'd changed positions. "Oh, I'd love to! You know, most guys would've seized that to tell me to take my top off or somethin, would've gotten them a slap. Not you, though. You're different. I like you."

Edited by Nox: 11/22/2016 12:44:07 PMLuke was still where he was when Keri got a more detailed look at his face. He hadn't done as much as move an inch. He frowned at Keri's comment, about how most guys would've used the opportunity for distasteful things. He didn't like it. But then again, he was one hell of a white knight, wasn't he? His expression cleared soon enough, a grin etching itself on his face as he gave a slow nod. He then spoke up, grin turning into a genuine smile, "It's a date, then, huh. Might be a tad bit rusty, though. And, I like you too. You're sweet."
-
"Oh, trust me, I'm really rusty. Been like... Twenty years since I've actually been on a date. You've probably had a date more recently than I have." Her smile went from that if just something gentle to genuine happiness. It really had been a very long time since she had been on a date.
-
"Been twenty years for me, too, actually. Haven't really had the time for dates after I joined the military. Guess we'll both have to shake off our rust, hmm? It'll be fun." He kept his smile, genuinely being happy as well. He didn't really expect Keri to say yes, to be completely truthful. A soft chuckle left Luke's lips, before he spoke again, "I know a cozy café in Dojoville.. Though, we could visit one in your hometown, Cedyetica? You said you had the entire city stored."
-
"I do, but it would take an hour for it to boot up. Let's just go down to that cafe. Sounds nice." She was ecstatic. She couldn't wait to actually get back into dating someone... It has been so long...
-
"Very fun, and I don't doubt that your presence will make it better." Luke slowly blinked as he tried to locate the way to the gate. He was at the simulation place, so he'd have to head.. Eh, he was sure he'd figure it out along the way - he did walk the path in the past, after all. "Shall we, then?"
-
"We shall." Keri said this gently, and with a huge smile. So far, Lucas was a great guy. This was definitely one of the better days she'd had at the Dojo. She lead him out of the alley, and down the street, over to the exit. "Lead the way, half-metal man."
-
Lucky Luke (yes, that is his actual nickname) softly chuckled at the 'half-metal man', though it definitely wasn't untrue, with his metal legs, arms, ribs. Hell, even his lungs and heart were replaced by cybernetics. He definitely was more metal than.. flesh. "I will," He said, smiling still as he somewhat shyly extended his left hand at Keri. Seemed the cyborg wanted to.. hold hands.
-
Keri slowly took his hand. She was glad he was like this. This kind of behavior was... Welcome, to say the least. With every passing second, she was liking him more and more. She already liked him a lot at this point.
-
Luke's hand was surprisingly warm to the touch as he gently held Keri's, the inner machinery radiating heat. It wasn't too hot, nor too cold. Just right, truthfully. "Let's go," He softly said, more to himself than to Keri. He then spoke up, now less talkative to himself, and more to the cowboy, "Would you like to go get some coffee or something first? We've got a Starbucks."
-
Might want to say cowgirl, not cowboy.
"Really? I hadn't noticed. I mean, I knew there was a coffee shop, but not a Starbucks. Sure, let's go. It'll be nice." She gave his hand a small squeeze, if he could even feel it. She wasn't really sure. She wasn't really sure if he could actually feel anything through his hands. She hoped he did.
-
Whoops. ;~;
Lucas make certainly did feel it, his smile widening a little while he softly returned the squeeze. He then started leading to way, walking at a relaxed and comfortable pace. He was having fun. "Know what you're going to order?" Luke asked with genuine curiosity in his voice upon entering the courtyard, hazel brown eyes going from Keri to the large Starbucks. "Think I might go for a cappuccino."
-
"I really don't know. I'll have to take a look at the menu, I guess. They probably have some sort of special thing going on, seeing as it's getting close to Christmas. Hey, do you celebrate Christmas? I know a few people in the Dojo don't." Whenever he squeezed back, Keri visibly got happier. She forgot just how good it felt to actually have someone by her side, someone to care for, someone to care about her. It was good. It was very good.
-
"I celebrate Christmas, yeah. Don't really go the gifts stuff, but my brother and I do spend time with our friends. Eating good food, talking, etcetera. Though, not completely sure if that's how it's going to go this year." He paused as he led Keri to the Starbucks itself, and eventually inside, to the counter, before he spoke again, "I reckon they have hot chocolate with marshmallows and stuff like that, for Christmas. Though, it's not even been Thanksgiving yet, so who knows. November has yet to pass, after all."
-
"True, but you know how stuff like this works. People start prepping way before the actual holiday. Works in my favor, really. I start wearing red, heard it's a nice color for me." Once inside Keri looks up at the menu, trying to decide what to get. It was weird, really. Going somewhere with someone and just wanting to be with them... It was still a little strange to her.
-
"I wouldn't know, haven't seen red on you yet. Though, your current clothes fit you just fine, to be truthful. Now, not to be rude, but can you read the menu? Don't know if your echolocation can do that. Then again, you also pointed out my metal arms." He shrugged, not knowing all the wonders of echolocation. He knew a lot, though that was all related to technology, more or less. But, then again tech was his specialty.
-
"Starbucks always do this weird chalk stuff on their menus, so it stands out just enough for me to read it. Heh. Silly thing is, I haven't actually learned Braille. Need to do that. Anyways, I think I'm just gonna get a... Carmel macchiato? Is that how you say it? And because I can't read, whatever the sizes are, I'm gonna get the smallest one."
