Throughout his entire life at the Dojo, one person has stuck with Mortar, one person whom he had known long before he joined the Dojo, one person who's abilities matched and thus rivaled his own.
Royal
And when he learned more about his Hollowing, it kept him up more at night than his insomniac brain normally would. So today he simply paces back and forth, trying to find out a way to help him, but comes up blank. But... he remembers not one but two people who have recovered from Hollowing.
Ornstein and Smough.
So, he decides to find these men, but he remembers that they aren't at the Dojo anymore. But Ornstein's daughter and son, Olivia and Nathaniel, are. So he sits on a bench in the Dojo Courtyard, waiting to find the Lady Dragonslayer. or Nathaniel
Orn, Roy, you're up!
"I know what you're trying to do" Royal suddenly seems to be sitting by you. Shadows, gripping the world around him "But it won't work."
-
*He smiles at Roy a moment* What do you think I'm gonna do?
-
"You're gonna ask Ornstein about hollowing."
-
*After he says that Mortar puts on a heavily sarcastic tone* Nooooo! I'm just waiting for my doctor to give me an anti Hollowing Suppository to shove up your ass!
-
"Haha very -blam!-ing funny."
-
*He chuckles slightly* Yeah. But I want what's best for you
-
"Oh wow Mortar. If I didn't know any better id say you were falling for me." He laughs and punches Mortar in the arm "What's best for me would be to leave. Maybe forever. If I fall into hollowness and kill someone.."
-
Hey, I have a girlfriend. *He chuckles as well, slapping his hand on Royal's shoulder* But, in all seriousness, I don't want you to leave. A lot of people want you here. I can and WILL find a way to keep you from hollowing, even if I have to lock you in my pocket dimension.
-
Royal simply sighs "I know something that might work. I have to journey to Firelink Shrine. Speak with the Firekeeper. She can heal my hollowing, for a price."
-
A... Price? *Mortar raises a brow* What price?
-
"Souls of the fallen." He said this while looking at the ground
-
Oh, yeah? *He sighs slightly, knowing what he has to do* I'll come with you
-
"I just don't know if I should give them up.... They're people I've murdered in anger, or in revenge. Some souls that died because of me. Tyler was his name? One of the Exiled. I have his soul... Because well..."
-
Look. I'm from the Underworld. if this person just wants any old souls I can supply them.
-
"I guess there's only one way of finding out?"
-
Yeah. I'll come with you
-
"Alright. Come on ." He stands creating a shadowy portal in the ground. He hops in
-
*Mortar steps in too*
-
We stand in front of the bonfire inside Firelink Shrine A woman is on the stairs, looking at us "Our Lord.. "
-
And Mortar... *He seems slightly awkward as he stands next to Royal, keeping at his side*
-
"I was referring to you, Lord Mortar. The linker of the flame"
-
Oh, sorry. I thought you were talking to Royal, the man who came for you.
-
"He defeated Lothric correct?" "It was the doggo. I didn't kill him Zane killed Lorian I think?" "Thou has come for a reason?" "Uh yes. I need you to clear my hollowing" "That is no small price"
-
Yeah, and that's why I'm here. Royal told me that your price for clearing him is souls. Being an Ex God... has some perks
-
"How many souls do you offer?"
