It's a calm, cold day in the dojo. The usual for a fall day.
Suddenly, the calm is broken by the sound of a massive explosion shaking the ground.
In the distance, something large and flaming can be seen falling through the atmosphere, crashing some distance some distance away from the dojo, crashing somewhere in the desert nearby.

The mechs had already boarded, Nine in total. "The mechs are following your orders at all times from this point on. So be careful."
-
"Well, you're certainly trusting. I'm not sure how best to deploy them, though. Infantry or cavalry?"
-
"Infantry. All of em. You a Sargeant or anything?" The ship starts, leaving the dojo
-
"Senior Chief Petty Officer. Roughly equal to a staff sergeant in the Navy." He grabs a fist full of webbing. "There will be UNSC troops deploying on site, so check your fire. No killing my men."
-
"You know what they look like? Describe em. The mechs need an image."
-
"Marines are in olive drab and camouflage, ODST shock troops are in black with silver visors. They're all humans. My AI is uploading their IFF tags to your HUDs.
-
"Alright. We're almost there. Is there a base or anything y'all have set up?"
-
"We're on our way down. ODSTs inbound with Hornet support. ETA 5 minutes."
-
"Alright. Here we go." The ship thumps on the ground, and shakes as the doors open
-
The Spartan is one of the first out, his MA5D assault rifle ready. "What are we up against?" He asks over the team comms, sweeping the area for enemies.
-
"We don't know. There's heavy cover that prevents us from seeing anything in a ten mile radius. We're just outside of it now." You look towards the desert, and spot a gateway of some sort exiting the ground
-
"Move in on that gate. Stay pread out to avoid fire." He bwgins moving towards it.
-
The mechs do as told, surrounding the gate
Yeah. So we can't continue with this little attack thing because this gate is part of Ornstein's plot. I'll link it if you want. At least we can't take it to far
-
The Spartan moves in as well. "How far in does it go?"
-
"We haven't really explored it. So we don't know."
-
"Great. Stand by to breach and clear. ODST squads are on standby, let's go." He checks his rifle again before signalling to breach.
-
Two of the mechs begin moving in when the gunfire erupts. Two plasma lasers tear through their cores, taking them down as blessed emerge from the sands, firing
-
"Take cover!" The Spartan opens up with his assault rifle, spraying them with 7.62/52mm FMJ AP rounds.
-
The mechs get down, and machine gun fire starts up. The gunship was giving aerial cover and the Blessed were going down pretty easily
-
The Spartan takes cover, sweeping the area for more enemies,
what exactly are these guys?
-
Basically zombies but actually intelligent
There was still a number scattered throughout the desert leading to the great gates
-
The Spartan continues firing, cutting several down. "Is this all of them?" He askd over the comms.
-
"No. The inside of those gates contains numbers we can't calculate."
-
"Hit the gate with a rocket, force them out into the open."
-
One of the mechs emerges from cover holding a rocket, only to be hit wit a plasma laser, Tearing him down "There's a sniper somewhere I can't see him. You need to locate them, get me a location."
