"Never been in a parade. Where I come from, we never have the time for them."
English
-
"Well from the eay you marched in, I'd have thought you were being hounded by a drill instructor." The Mando takes a sip from his ale.
-
"It is called discipline. In my army, no one makes one move that isn't perfect, including myself. Discipline may be the single most important part of an army, in my opinion."
-
"Can't argue with that, though relaxing every now and again is important as well. Keeps you from burning out."
-
"Unlike most organic species, us Mechonus are built to both never burn out, and seek joy in war. My army works like a perpetual motion machine, the more fuel they use to fight, the more they gain in return."
-
"Interesting. So you're not organic?"
-
"It is hard to explain. I am alive, but I was made in a factory. My species reproduces asexually, by building another person when they have the proper resources. But, part of us, our 'brain', is made by some unknown force in the universe."
-
"Ah, so you were made for warfare as well. Interesting."
-
"Pretty much my entire race was made for war. Heck, we were made by a different race that is made for war. War is our life. Those who are unlucky get stuck with some boring city job like 'factory manager', or 'scientist'. But enough about me. Tell me some about you."
-
"Not much to tell. Was made on Kamino, fought in the clone wars, left when the Empire took over and joined the Mandalorians. Your species, or at least how you describe them, reminds me a lot of the Mando'ade."
-
"Who is Mando'ade?"
-
"The Mandalorians. That's our name in Mando'a. War is our way. It's how we progress, how we strengthen ourselves." He takes another drink.
-
"Sounds like someone I would like to meet, but not on the battlefield."
-
"Well, your talking to one." The Mandalorian smirks, taking another sip. "We got pretty good at war after a few thousand years. The founding species may be extinct, but the culture lives on."
-
"That is quite interesting. Do you have any comrades, or is it just you?"
-
"I've only met one other Mando on Tatakai, but back on Mandalore there were millions of us. More spread across other planets."
-
"Are they all as powerful as you?"
-
"Some. Some are stronger, some are weaker."
-
"Huh, are they still organized into an army?"
-
Cannon shakes his head. "Some of us. Te Mand'alore is the only one who could unite us, and he's currently missing. Right now it's every clan separate."
-
"It would be spectacular to watch a battle between all of the Mandorians United and some other foe, although it seems hardly fair against whoever you fight."
-
"It happened, once. Over a thousand years ago. Mand'alore the Ultimate united us against the Galactic Republic, and alliance of many hundreds of worlds, in an attempt to lead the clans to glory." He smiles atvthe memory.
-
"What did the Republic do wrong? Or did you wage war against them simply for the fun of it?"
-
"We waged war to prove ourselves. The Republic didn't like that, so they attacked us. We replied in kind."
-
"Huh, never heard of waging war to prove oneself."
-
Cannon smirks. "How else do we leave our mark? We all die eventually, so we need to leave our mark. The Republic fought like cowards. On one planet, they even quartered their troops among civilians, hoping that we wouldn't attack for fear of damaging any valuable loot."
