Well..... it's a free event, yes. If Festival of the Lost 2016 is the example they set, I think the community has a right to voice their opinion. It's not about hating the game, it's about Bungie locking pretty much everything worth playing Destiny for behind the Eververse bullshit.

Everything worth playing for? You mean the COSMETIC shit that has no impact on the game??
-
Yeah, "all that cosmetic shit that has nothing to do with the game". Destiny is a shoot and loot game. You are always chasing something, and once you have everything and they put out live events advertising new loot, that's all that's left. When the new loot is behind a paywall you really don't have a point to play. Bungie knows this and capitalizes on it.

Please name me ONE non-cosmetic, non-trivial item that has been locked behind Eververse ...

Srl record book

SRL record book.
-
Ha, ha. You think a record book you will never look at again is not trivial or cosmetic? How does the SRL book give you an advantage in playing any aspect of the game? It doesn't, it's a trivial cosmetic item

Slippery slope
-
How is it a slippery slope when all record books since then (a year ago) have been free. You are flogging a dead horse

When it's part of a free update where emote purchases are supposed to fund it, you shouldn't have to pay a dime.

Edited by GrayWulf25: 12/5/2016 11:22:14 PMEntitled kids fail to understand the basics of business. When you purchase an eMote that's what you get in return. You don't get a stake in whatever Bungie decides to spend that money on. Not ever. Bungie have confused a lot of kids who lack understanding of business, when they said Eververse purchases would FUND future updates. Kids have misunderstood this as them having a stake i.e. automatic entitlement to free future content in perpetuity. When you buy an eMote you are not an investor in whatever Bungie uses that cash for. It's theirs to do whatever they want with. How Bungie chooses to Finance future content is their business only. You are not entitled to anything for free because you once bought a Zombie dance eMote
-
It isn't entitlement. They said that's what the emotes were for. I dropped $25 on silver, I shouldn't have had to pay a dime for the record book. And I didn't, because I didn't buy it. Emotes were supposed to fund the live team events, yet you still had to pay to access a major portion of the content.
-
So despite my explanation, you still misunderstand Bungie's statement on how it will FUND future updates, as creating entitlement for yourself I'll say it again. Just because you once bought an eMote does not entitle you to what Bungie chooses to spend that on. I'm starting to despair for the future of humanity here

The events were advertised as free, with the emotes paying for it. Therefore the event should've had free access. You don't have a leg to stand on, I'm not arguing for infinite treasure boxes, I'm arguing for access to the content they said we'd get without charge. Fortunately they've learned from the mistake this year and it will be free. It's like if they advertised Rise of Iron as $29.99 (which they did) and a raid with it. But then made you pay $10 to play the raid. I'm done arguing, your overuse of "entitled" and misunderstanding of it shows you're not even listening.
