Even before icebreaker was nerfed in year two I haven't used it since VoG lol if I get it it's going straight to the vault. Stop getting so hyped over a bad weapon.

The Icebreaker is my favorite before I switched to Xbox one I beat KF with it.

They mentioned that they were altering the weapon, nerfs might be undone.

But why should it be used over anything else?

Unlimited ammo on a high impact sniper, with intrinsic firefly? It's a utility weapon.

It has low DPS, the ammo regenerates very slowly. It's better to have black spindle.

It can have high burst DPS though, especially when combined with a decent primary or heavy.

Now higher than black spindle lol or gjallorhorn or sleeper. And marginally better than a spray and play event horizon, but not better because it takes an exotic slot.

You're not a day1er it seems. Icebreaker was an awesome weapon in every Nightfall or Raid.

Okay, well: 1. https://youtu.be/FqQ0atp-dEI 2. WAS awesome. Now it's not. You don't get ammo when you switch weapons, it regens slow af and they've patched most cheese spots where you just can't sit and snipe.

1. We talked about unnerfing the weapon. 2. It's still possible to snipe enemies from safe spots in every strike. 3. It's way better than the Spindle for Adds. Spindle is just better for Bosses. 4. Icebreaker is still awesome, just not infusable what makes it pretty much obsolete. A Y3 version changes that. 5. Use what you want, no one cares.

I'm sorry, but explain to me exactly why would you use icebreaker just for adds? It doesn't out DPS anything and add control can be dealt with primaries. It was helpful for CE pit encounter if you didn't have fatebringer, but I can't imagine using it for adds. Also, they said they were going to unnerf it or did they say there were going to make changes?

If it's unnerfed, it's an awesome weapon for any hard mission or strike. Even with the nerfs a Y3 version would be awesome. Period. If you think otherwise, don't use it. Period. I used Icebreaker religiously in Y1 in strikes or VoG because it was an awesome weapon dealing with adds from safe distances without having any trouble with ammo or dying.
