I think a lot of people are irritated because while they present their events as if they're actually adding new stuff when they are not. Then they want you to pay more money to hope rng favors you and gives you a freaking reskin.. Come the -blam!- on!
Halo 5 had 6 months of free dlc with soooo much more content. God I wish I didn't hate that game.
Halo Reach didn't need microtransactions out the ass and they kept it running smoothly. Just putting that out there.

Halo had free content to make up for the lackluster fan reception. Destiny's fanbase is eager to play Destiny more. The people who whine and moan on the forums all day every day are passionate about this game. That's why the DLC isn't free. People are actually willing to pay for it. In any case, Strike Scoring? New. And free. Sparrow Racing? Two NEW tracks. Free. Even the record book is free this time around. Bungie is listening. They're not perfect. Nobody denies that, but most of us play Destiny and keep up to date with it because we think it's worth it. Halo 5's free DLC, much like Titanfall's, is to make up for poor reception from the fans. Titanfall was never a bad game, it just had its issues, so they had to do something to make up for it. Destiny? We're all eager to eat it up. Bungie has made plenty of mistakes, but the game itself still brings us in. That's the difference.

We paid for it with RoI...

Live events are funded by microtransactions, not DLC releases. So, no, you didn't. You paid for Rise of Iron to get Rise of Iron and all access to free live updates. In a sense, you paying for DLCs pits you in a VIP membership, much RuneScape's membership program. All content after purchase is free. Even though Runescape does it better.

I call bullshit. Sorry
