I love how this is a free update and y'all entitled brats are complaining. Weren't some of you wanting Ice Breaker and Nexus back? So they bring it back FOR FREE and you're still complaining? Filthy casuals.

Bungie is "bringing back" re-skinned content we've already paid for. Other than the questline itself, there is no new content which this game desperately needs. Once January 3rd hits, it's back to the same garbage grindfest.

I want the 3 Icebreakers I already have to be upgradeable to the new light level. Took me a long-long time in year one to finally get my first IB - cheering when it finally dropped. Then they made it obsolete.
-
They are giving us something we have already bought FOR FREE. That is what your sentence translated to.
-
Entitled..... Everything you said after that was muted. Save that mess for SJW's and the cheesy nightly news shows.

i bet you are lots of fun in real life.

Right? I'm not one of the jaded Y1 elitists, and I never had a chance to get the IBer through normal means; I have to grub around in the Prison or farm legacy special engrams like a peasant. So I'm genuinely excited to have a legitimate chance to get it for the first time. Rose of Corruption, Nanohance, and Cold Between Stars? Yes, please. New faction and strike challenges? Absolutely, love strikes, even though I've run them hundreds of times. And I never got to do SRL the first time, because I was broke and didn't have a PS Plus membership.

im a year one noob boob and im still stoked for this update. i loved the recent festival of the lost and this event looks even better. the strike book and faction sounds great and will no doubt be a permanent addition to the game along with the three new remixed strikes. nexus mind is the only original strike that hadnt been brought forward and was long overdue and omingul and taniks for sure needed a refresh already as well. bungie couldnt have done better with this. especially nexus mind, which sounds awesome if the boss fight works just like the templar fight with the aegis relic. could turn out to be the best strike in the game if done right.

We bought game Game had guns in it They take guns out We ask for them back for a year They finally give them back Reminder that we paid for this stuff We should be grateful for that?

I could understand if it cost you extra money for the guns but it doesn't. Rise of Iron is what you paid for last. Everything else is bonus.
Funny, I remember paying for Icebreaker in 2014.....
Y'know, I did too! You know what else? I still have mine and use it in regular Crucible now and then. They didn't take it from you, they just left it behind as it was. While I'm entirely against the whole 'planned obsolescence' thing, at the same time this is -no matter what it says, 'Shared World Shooter' my ass- an MMO-style game. Am I sad that my nifty Prismatic Blade from the base game in Elder Scrolls Online is too low level for Veteran Dungeons? Sure, it was awesome and I loved it. Am I gonna whine about it on their forums? No, I'm not. This shit happens in MMOs, even if it's an MMO like Destiny that's in denial at its own nature and having an identity crisis.
-
I recall paying for a game with content. Yes icebreaker was amongst the content but it's not like they are saying to rebuy it because if you have access to the content as of now you AUTOMATICALLY have access to it. It's not like the barrier to year 3 is anything more than playing the game. My perspective and stuff.

Edited by REVIVE PHARMER: 12/5/2016 7:41:01 PMAgreed. I like how all of the addict yuppies are in here like "ALL HAIL ICEBREAKER". We had it Y1, it was great. It got nerfed, made obsolete and now you get all excited cause you're getting it back. Lol. So sad. Gjallarhorn and Icebreaker are mere shadows of their former selves. As for all this "free" content we're getting, we've paid for all of it....... Twice. Definition: Stockholm syndrome.

Edited by anthrax99: 12/5/2016 4:08:56 PMhow did they take yours out? i still have all 3 of my y1 icebreakers. im not sure what game you are playing. you dont have to be grateful for anything but something to consider: being a salty whiner is not a good look under any circumstances either so why do it?
-
they dont understand that these things have been happening for years.
-
-_- you seem to be missing the point...
-
So because it isn't/wasn't up to current light standards might as well forget about it or dismantle it? I still use mine in normal crucible, it's still a lot of fun.
-
And you seem the proud idiot victim of indian giving whom gets offended when people call you out on it.
I love how this is a free update and y'all entitled brats are complaining. Weren't some of you wanting Ice Breaker and Nexus back? So they bring it back FOR FREE and you're still complaining? Filthy casuals.
Toxic as hell community
-
Edited by anthrax99: 12/5/2016 4:17:05 PMthey are a little bitch community that thinks the original $60 they spent on the vanilla game should have included free expansions for life, and every one of those expansions should have been bigger than vanilla and bigger than the expansion that came before it. because they paid for it already supposedly. they paid for 10 years worth of content or whatever it will be by buying the base game. i guess since i bought madden 96 i should get all madden games after that for free for life. every game should let you have the sequels for free since you already paid for the original and you can just claim the rest was cut content that nobody can prove but you still deserve because rea$on$.
-
Oh, if only the root cause of this problem was whiny little bitches believing they are entitled to something for buying the 'vanilla' game... Let's start with the base 'investment' in this game which you say was $60, released at £45 here in the UK, followed by a season pass which sold at £35 and then in turn by The Taken King - another £45 [The same price IIRC as in the US, in other words, even more expensive due to exchange rates] and then The Rise of Iron at a price of £25.. If you're keeping track that totals £150 if you have been playing since release, NOT a mere $60/£45.. more than THREE TIMES the base game price. The story doesn't end there though, does it? Because at the SAME TIME as each new release there has been a 'collector's edition' of one flavour or another with ALL previous content bundled up for the SAME PRICE as the new content alone; add to that taking away content only to add it back later 'for free', and you wonder why a large portion of the [long term] fanbase are salty? I get progressive obsolescence, I get that the whole destiny framework from game design to pricing structure has been a constant evolution and I GET that Bungie have to make it easy for new players to jump in and having to shell out £150 would put pretty much ANY new player off, but it doesnt make it sit any easier when they release new chargeable DLC which nerfs everything you spent the last year grinding for AND effectively make it cheaper for a newbie to buy. Toxic community? Definitely. Is this something Bungie could have avoided with a better/fairer pricing structure? DEFINITELY
