"So, how've you been in my little absence?"

"Oh, nothing much. Planning for the holidays, getting hired by some guy named Deity. Something about doing good for the world, that stuff." Other than the occasional fight, Irina had been pretty comfortable, although she missed Athena.
-
"Holy shit, you doing something good? I would've never thought that'd happen." The sarcasm in her voice was very clear.

"Such a big change for someone like me. I feel as if I'm a completely different person." Irina laughed to herself a little, sighing as her breath faded away into the freezing air. "Always loved the winter months. Reminds me of Yharnam 'n Cainhurst. My home."
-
"Ah. I've never minded the winter months very much myself. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the cold, but when you grow up like I did, you learn to deal with it."
-
"Heh. I love the cold, for some really weird reason. It reminds me of the place that kept me safe from the Healing Church, and the Executioners, least till they actually found a way to get there. Cainhurst, of course, was that place." Irina had considered the Gothic-Victorian castle a home for almost ten years, as it had housed her while she was hunted by the Healing Church. It held a special place within her heart (alongside Athena, of course).

"'The Executioners'? They sound friendly..." She takes another sip of her still damn near steaming hot drink "What'd you do after they found you?"
-
"Long story. Pretty much retreated to here, it was...only one man. Daniel. He's...he's dead now." Daniel had been the one that had made Irina a mute before she arrived at the Dojo by literally slicing and tearing out her tongue. Nasty business.

Sensing the change in Irina when she talked about Daniel, Athena put 2 and 2 together. "I take it there's more to the 'Daniel part' of the story?"
