The Newcomer... not like anyone even cares | Somewhere in the Dojo
A figure, dressed in all white armor, slipped his way through the crowd of civilians. He was tall in comparison to everyone else, his boots creating a metal clang as he walked. He wasn't sure where he was going, but had a feeling it would be somewhere decent. He didn't want to go to a bar - he never liked to drink.
He heard everything through the crowd of mixed individuals. Their problems, their plans for the evening, it was quite interesting - knowing what people were doing or what they planned on doing. It made things fresh. It wasn't the same routine every day.
Rain had began to fall, the orange lights in his armor and visor seemed to be a faded haze of colors due to the heavy downpour. He had been walking for at least two hours, still, not having a clue on where he was. He just so happened to have stumbled across the Dojo by mistake, it was never intentional to come here.
Surprisingly, people didn't seem to mind a tall man in an all white power suit. It baffled him on how oblivious people were... or, were they just used to it? It didn't seem unlikely. For some reason it felt very plausible for a place like this.
He continued on, the people still bustling by, going on with their day. He didn't seem to mind this, however. He, for some reason, found it calming. It felt natural to be walking around these streets. But he did hope for some interaction with another person, no matter who it was.
Open. Please, feel free to reply. I've been trying to get back into RP.
Edited by Old Man Kent: 12/10/2016 1:28:54 AMHe's surprised by the beings appearance. But, he replies in a well suited manner. "A bit, yes. I'm new here. I've only been here a few hours and have the slightest clue on where or what I'm doing."
Sorry for the late reply
-
its k.
"Well, where do you feel you need to be? Are you hungry, tired, injured, bored?"
-
"Mostly hungry and bored. I'm a bit tired of walking around these streets."
-
((back. had to make an alt. Its Quincy)) He nodded. "There's a couple restaurants nearby. I don't know if you're interested but I'll pay." The odd person seemed friendly enough. He also sounded quite young as well.
-
"Hm, that's a very generous offer. Especially towards a stranger. But, I won't decline an offer like that." Rhys said thankfully. "Lead the way."
-
He smiled, happy to be helping someone. "Well alrighty. I think its somewhere down south."
did i specify where they're going?
-
Edited by Old Man Kent: 12/13/2016 2:03:52 AM
No, just that there were restaurants around.
"Sounds good. I'll follow you." Rhys says crossing his arms, while at the same time tapping a rhythmic beat.
-
"Right then, go any preferences to food choice?"
-
"Anything sounds good right now."
-
"Well, there's a whole lot of choices. Ill just let you pick when we get there." He starts walking down the street. "C'mon. Its not far."
-
"Hm, alright." He says as he follows him.
-
Eventually they reach a street dotted with restaurants. "Ta da!"
-
"Hm, that was quick." He says as he looks at the variety of restaurants displayed before him.
-
Soon enough, the metallic footsteps of the armored figure were met with that of another. The man stood at 6'7" in the hulking suit of blue armor. When he passed, there were sometimes slight murmurs within the crowd. As if he was famous for something, or possibly infamous. As he came to an intersection that would cross paths with the newcomer, he found a corner to stop at for a moment. He began to scan the area, make sure nothing was amiss... and there stood the newcomer. He began walking towards the man in the white armor, his visor quickly turning from a golden color, to blue, and back again. Then, he spoke in a computerized voice, "Hey, there. Don't think I've ever seen you around here?"
Sorry for the late reply, man.
-
The man turned to look down at him, the orange glow in his visor seemed hazy and distorted in the rain. "I've never been here before, that's probably why you don't recognize me. I just arrived a few hours ago on accident. But I decided to look around, see what was going on."
It's fine fam
-
"Oh. Welcome, then." The man puts his hand forward, waiting for a handshake. "Name's Vernon, but most around here call me JJ. And you arrived just a bit too late, we recently finished up a fighting tournament."
-
Edited by Old Man Kent: 12/9/2016 9:03:45 PMHe completes the handshake, then crosses his arms. "I've heard people talking about the fight. But i didn't know you were the one apart of it. I heard you lost, and that they almost had to kill you," he checks one of the data pads on his wrist, then looks back up. "Would have been a shame if something like that were to happen. Especially if it was just a dual between to common-folk."
-
Once the newcomer mentions "common-folk," Vernon begins to crack up, chuckling at the notion. He quickly regains his composure though, save for a few small bouts of laughter. "I don't know how 'common' we are, but it would've been a shame. Anyway, you said wound up here by accident. Where're you headed, Mr..." Vernon was obviously waiting for a response to his question, and a name.
-
Edited by Old Man Kent: 12/10/2016 1:28:36 AMHe got stiff when the man laughed at what he had said. But replied anyway. "I was heading to a planet far away from here. You've probably never heard of it. And my name is Rhys, pleasure to meet you."
Sorry for the late reply
-
Edited by jj1042: 12/10/2016 1:45:18 AM"Nice to meet you. And I've been more places than I can count, and heard of even more. Try me." Vernon spoke with complete confidence, even through the computerized voice.
It's fine fam
-
Edited by Old Man Kent: 12/10/2016 3:00:02 AM"Alright. It's a planet called Beku. I was supposed to meet someone there. A... mutual friend of sorts." His voice deep and metallic.
-
"That frozen hellhole? The only person that anyone would be crazy enough to go see there would be... Say, who was this mutual friend of yours?" The confidence and joyous tones left Vernon's voice, replaced completely by curiosity with an edge of hostility. Although, Vernon's actions didn't seem to indicate the hostility was leveled toward Rhys. Vernon looked around as he uttered the words, as if to make sure no one was paying any particular attention to the conversation.
-
"I'm going to see Kent. If you've been to Beku, or at least have heard of the place. You'll know who I'm talking about. We're related."
-
"Related? You sound younger, even through the computer. So... you're his son?" JJ maintained his previous tone.
-
"Sure. Let's go with that." He says fidling with the cylinders in his waist.
