How to Create a Quality Thread
What would be considered a "quality" thread would vary from member to member, but here are a few tips on how to create somewhat decent threads that don't clutter the forums with your usual "Let's talk about [controversial issue that triggers people]" or shitpost:
1. Engage the readers
Come up with a valuable discussion question. If possible, try to avoid personal views or sensitive topics such as religion/politics or threads that describe the shape of our home planet. Those topics are usually very engaging but bring about the negative kind, which is bad. These kinds of threads also generate tension between members as they start to see your different point of views and can often lead to mutes.
2. Involve the readers
Post threads that involve readers and get them to interact with the original post/poster, such as getting them to record their voice or drawing their usernames on paper. These kinds of threads are usually really fun and extremely engaging. Create a challenge, make a contest, start a fundraiser, a petition, do something fun with the people who stop by your thread and take the time to comment.
3. Bring readers together
There's no better way to encourage engagement than bringing reader together and getting them to talk about things they share in common. The "3 Things About You" thread I made a while back gave members a chance to connect with each other and put away their differences. Turns out a few of us play the same instrument, or live in the same city, or share the same name, and these kinds of threads are not only engaging, but creates a bond between forum users and creates a positive impact on the community.
4. Reward your readers
This doesn't necessarily have to be anything of monetary value, but reward your readers with something they can enjoy, such as getting on the guitar and playing for them or creating art pieces for your readers.
5. Interact with your readers
This one might not be considered a "quality" thread to some people, but that was already pointed out in the beginning of this thread. Ask readers how their day was. Offer help for something. Say hello. Create a thread that isn't about "Me" and allow your readers to share something from their own personal lives. We live in a negative world and sometimes, all we need is someone to talk to. Be that someone.
#OFFTOPIC For Dummies is a series of threads in which I try to go over the various things I've found on these forums during my stay here. They may not always be accurate, but I'll try to include as many facts as I can. If you'd like to read the rest of the threads in this series, click on the #otfordummies hashtag under the original post. If you enjoy this thread and want to see more, consider liking/upvoting it so I can see how many people are actually interested. Thank you <3
But the shape of our home "planet" is a viable topic.. why thwart it?
-
All this is useless... The only thing you need is a: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ).

I wouldn't listen to advice from you imo. You're a very self centered fellow.

Ardent is cancer

Or just be me. Get everyone's hopes down with low quality shitposts and bam 200 reasons why potatoes are great.

But who does that?

Or be a legend like EA

"The Secret to Making a Good Post". Make a post about possibly making a good post.

I still don't understand how pretending the earth is flat is cool.. Pretty asinine. That's like claiming there's no such thing as gravity.. Pointless. Seek counseling if you're serious.

I like how your examples of quality threads are your own threads lol.
