Zane stood by the edge of the cliff, his old grave site. A gentle breeze ruffles his cloak. Ausführung rested the back of his Phoenix armor, his hand hovering over his .44. He was worried about his family, about Mira. He made sure to ward his home to protect her, he wasn't going to lose her again.
He sighed, he always hated infighting. What a waste of time he thought, words were more effective then the blade. Alas he waited, for the one to challenge him. For the sake of his family, he refused to lose.

"...You're an oddity. Not taking part of the raging fight, but yet you instead wait for ones to challenge you in combat. It's different. Least...from what I've seen." An apparition appeared some feet away from Zane - maybe ten or eleven feet - although they began to fully solidify after a second after they spoke. A ghost, from the looks of it, drawn to Tatakai by the chaos. It was a female figure, at a height of 6'3 and clad in an ebony black suit of carbon fiber and ceramic plating armor, enough to defend efficiently while enough remain quick. Insignias and symbols of old were painted upon the chestplate and shoulders, signifying ranks and accomplishments...the most notable being this, branded right into the forehead of the helmet. Upon her back was a six foot long greatsword, the blade thick and made of what appeared to have been a titanium alloy mixed with...something else, which gave it ja almost crystalline gleam. A faint glow of green light, something of the knightess's past. Something that today, she did not have. "...You are Zane, correct?"
-
He moved his hand away from his .44, and rested it by his side. He wondered who this figure might be, as he had never seen her before. "Yes, you would be correct. I stand here because I hate infighting, yet I must defend my home. Who might you be?"
-
"...One cursed as a roaming spirit, one drawn by insatiable violence. Alianna Eizel, previous Battalion Commander of the Frozen Legion. Now - reduced to a mere apparition, locked in the mortal realm for...I believe a year now." The spirit merely sighed, lowering their head. But the sense of despair did not last for long. "I have come here to test your mettle. Not to the death, of course - but to see how you have improved, if at all. I will suffer as a normal being would, so I believe any forms of combat between us would be...somewhat equal."
-
*smiles* You done good, kid. You done good.
-
"I see, I accept this challenge Eizel. I'm guessing your preferred method is melee?" He drew his massive blade, holding it with one hand in front of him.
-
"Yes. Even though most in my time preferred firearms - I was always a sword person. Lived by the sword...died by the sword." The knight drew the sword that laid upon her back, swinging it to her side as it faintly gleamed once more. It's power was long gone, whatever it once had extinguished: like an ancient relic, from a time long ago. "I will allow you the first move. Although I am aware of the courtesy of allowing the challenger to proceed with combat first."
-
He bows, showing respect to the elite swordswoman. He then stood, and ran forward and slashed his blade downward.
-
"I'm happy that you're at least proper in some manner." Alianna suddenly sprung into action as well, swinging her sword upwards and holding it up as it collided with Zane's blade. It was held up with extraordinary strength - something that a normal human would not be capable of. Instead of kneeing him in the gut (or worse, the balls), she simply stared at Zane, waiting on his next attack.
-
He stared at the armored knight, surprised by her hidden strength. Not many people could block, and have him in a sword hold. "What power you have, it's quite fascinating." He leapt backward, holding his blade in front of him in a defensive manner.
-
"I would guess it would be strength gained from years of combat against swords and such. I do not know myself." Let's just say that after a battle to the death with Guts - coincidentally the one she was slain at - Alianna was used to crossing blades with swords larger than her own. Yes. She fought the anime character Guts. Holding her sword out to her side this time, the knightess began a charge, raising her shoulder and practically attempting to slam into Zane while she kept the sword at her side. It seemed to have been there to counter an incoming slash, instead of an actual attack.
-
He leap over the charging knight, landing behind her and quickly spinning with a slash. It was aimed to knock her off balance, as he was swinging with the flat of his blade.
-
Spinning back as well as swinging, the force of Zane's attack sent her spiraling back, as Alianna spun before anchoring herself to the ground with her own sword. Standing straight up, the knightess tore the ancient blade from the earth and nodded: agility was something she could respect. She began to approach once more, blade within only her right hand.
-
He stood up from his last attack, keeping his blade at his side. He lowered it as he charged, generating friction and sparks. He spun as he reached the knight, slashing with great force.
-
Alianna gripped the handle of her own sword tightly as well as she proceeded to swing with considerable force, although Zane's building up power and preparation lead to her skidding away. The sickening crack of glass sounded as a crack appeared within the knightess's sword - it didn't appear to be glass, and it was as hard as titanium. There was something special about the sword, in some capacity. "Damn," Was all she muttered, before recovering and approaching once more.

Edited by XxZANExX13: 12/24/2016 5:57:19 AMHe heaved his blade up and onto his shoulder, and walked up to the knight. "So how am I doing so far, an I meeting your expectations?"
-
"Indeed. It's rather intriguing." With a sudden jolt of movement, Alianna propelled herself straight towards Zane, swinging the blade downwards upon him suddenly. Her speed had drastically increased, to say the least.
-
Caught off guard, the slash cut into his armor with ease and caused him to stagger back. His visor glowed blue as he stared at the knight. "Well now, that was interesting." He ran forward, bringing his blade up and then down onto the knight.
-
"Interesting? Emphasize." Alianna replied, swinging upwards once more and initiating another sword-lock. This time, the knightess slammed her leg into Zane's stomach, unlike before. "Dishonorable, I know...apologies."
-
He grunts from the kick but holds his ground, moving around the knight while in the sword lock. "To increase your speed suddenly, how did you manage that? What other abilities do you have I wonder."
-
"They're not abilities. My main priority was seeing just how strong and capable you were - and how serious I should take you. Now I know that you're both extremely capable of matching me in swordplay, and your athletic prowess allows you to be much more agile than some. You could say I was holding back...but now, I don't have to do that anymore." Alianna calmly explained, before pushing against Zane's blade and beginning to push against Zane himself.
-
He breathed in heavily, then exhaled. His aura temporary flared and pulsed into his arms, allowing him to push back. "There are still things you don't know, I might just surprise you." He gracefully moved past her, slicing her side as he does so then raised his blade.
-
Edited by Orn: 12/25/2016 7:03:11 PMThe blade cleaved through armor, as ghostly blood began flowing from the wound. Alianna didn't pay much attention to it as she spun around, gripping her sword with both hands as she thrusted forwards.
-
He moved his blade to block, imitating another sword hold. He pressed down on her, adding force. "Your still holding back...."
-
"Mm." Was all that the knightess said before pushing back, planning on kneeing Zane. It was true that she was holding back - although she herself wasn't holding anything back, she was holding back her weapon's capabilities.
-
Edited by XxZANExX13: 12/26/2016 6:11:16 PMHe leapt back. Releasing the sword hold and raising his guard. He waited for her next move.
